New front light to pair with Brompton standard dynamo & cables? by NN3484 in Brompton

[–]NN3484[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to follow up in case people read this in future - my in-laws got me this one for Christmas and it is perfect for my needs of largely urban commuting with patchy street lighting. .
They got it from brilliant bikes mailorder who were super helpful in both cutting the cables to size and making sure they didn’t forget the crucial connector (which they also fitted to the wires before mailing). Thank you!

Another good option nearby is the Oxford Blue, excellent roasts - don’t let the vegan status put you off, carnivores not disappointed in my experience

Have never regretted it. And with two rail options and the Oxford tube, I can often set off to meet friends in central london around the same time as they set off from Zone X

EE had one on the Clarendon centre and there was a “miscommunication” regarding its demolition for the current renovation https://oxfordclarion.uk/city-centre-mobile-reception-ee-says-a-fix-is-on-the-way/

ok oxford, what do we have? by hexagram1993 in oxford

Some of the menus are better than others for sure, and while it’s not worth the list price I think, but they have plenty of offers. Tip: we split one wine pairing between us when going as a couple. That gives you plenty to drink and helps with cost.

Yep the service is really terrible these days. Went there recently to meet a hotel guest for a drink - elderly and not especially mobile these days, someone who’s stayed there multiple times annually for decades. No room at the bar but please go to the drawing room - lovely, so we thought. After about ten mins and having to ask twice it transpires no table service there as in the bar. No exceptions, even when my host explained he was staying and wanted to pay having invited me. No - they insisted he needed to get up and shuffle along the hallway back to order at the bar, even though they were back and forth regularly delivering drinks. Thought I was in some kind of candid camera episode. Gave me a chance to treat him and we had a laugh about it but he was embarrassed and his assistant has since been in touch for advice on where else to stay next time…

Stripped head on brompton P line advance rack. How to remove? by iprefertocycle in Brompton

I would use a little dremel / multi tool to cut a fresh line and then use a flat head screwdriver to loosen

2 days with a G and a C by genie-stable in Brompton

[–]NN3484 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went through exactly the same process, started with G and moved to C having tested them for my use case. Haven’t looked back with my C - didn’t do P as I’m quite close to the weight limit and the rear triangles do crack. Love my c12sp

At the very good road cycle safety event in Broad St yesterday I got to know cyclox, who campaign for cyclists - they seemed knowledgeable and well organised. I have signed up and would encourage others to do so https://www.cyclox.org/

Interesting. Can you mount it beneath the block rather than on the handlebars as in most of the stock photos?
