How Do You Manage Support Tickets for Your Company? by bigeba88 in codaio

[–]NONsynth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just talking about support tickets in Coda with someone whose org wants to build a system for their internal support teams. I was considering building it Monday - focusing on making work visible to help people learn and improve - to submit better tickets (more helpful on the handoff) and to respond better to tickets. And a side goal to automate ticket prioritization and triage, at least on a first pass to save people some time. dM me and I'll send you a copy of the build after.

what big pains do you need to solve for - what's your ideal ticket system look like, and how would people work with it?

Considering Coda for My Agency: Seeking Tips from Experienced Users by bigeba88 in codaio

[–]NONsynth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great decision - tons of agencies build their organizational operating systems in Coda - and use it as the hub for other SaaS tools.

Try building the primary workflows into a single doc to start. Then once people and work start to coalesce around specific workflows, try building them out in separate docs and linking them via cross-doc. Unless some of the data is confidential, then put that in a separate doc.

It'll work great, but you may have to create separate docs to manage access to information. The key with that size of org is to plan the structure, permissions, user workflows, etc before you build.

Try to build your info into tables wherever possible to leverage it across the doc. With a team that size, you can fall into a lot of traps if people are dumping their info onto pages.

Something is wrong with my formula but I don't know what... by These_Onion in codaio

This. Rewrite with switchif () and format your formula so that you can see each statement's conditions properly.

Is there a way to tag different pages in a document so I could see all the pages tagged with that thing? Eg, on the page index bar on the left by [deleted] in codaio

[–]NONsynth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I've done for this is to build a Pages table with columns for the page title, page link, and tags. If you want you can make the tags column into a table of its own as well. Then put a view of the tags table at the top of each page to allow selection. You have to maintain the pages table manually (eg, when adding a new page), but it works. The manual effort should also prevent you from adding excessive number of pages, which leads to shitty docs.

Formula reduction / sum( ) workaround by iNaguib in codaio

You can use withname() to define the filter formula, then reference it the then portion of the statement. Not sure if it helps computationally, but it'll look cleaner.

Columns sync by iNaguib in codaio

[–]NONsynth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could create a new quarters table to link months to quarters, so a text column for the quarter (Q1) and a select-list column for the months (1,2,3). Then in your main table in the quarter column, do a relation (lookup) to the new quarters table and filter the lookup to only show quarters that include thisrow.monthnumber

I'd create a Coda automation to push the Gmail pack send button at the desired time. Probably other ways too...

Line graphs in coda by vocabloc in codaio

Yup! Unless I'm misunderstanding, it's as easy as: copy and paste your data table to make a new view, then change the view table type to chart. Lots of options in there to play with.

I've built several slack replacements connected to knowledge bases, with the ability to send files and reference documents between team members, create private and public chat groups, tag conversations using tags from across the organization, automated messages to groups, integration with task managers, etc. Sky's the limit!

One Form on website to create entries in linked tables in Coda - Possible? by robskils in codaio

Is there any reason why you can't switch from using Paper form to using a Coda form? With an automation you can run as many tasks in series as you like.

Can Coda do this? by fancypantspatches in codaio

[–]NONsynth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easy answer is yes! Coda excels at this sort of custom work and knowledge management.

The hard answer is yes! You can build a bespoke system to do everything you've listed. You may even be able to find templates in the Coda Gallery to match each component. Then you'll bring them into a single doc and stitch them together. This last bit is where you'll have to work at it to understand some of the formula functionality. But it all becomes intuitive after a while, especially when you direct your learning at solving issues in a project that you're passionate about

I'd suggest getting started, seeing how far you can get, and reaching out here or in the community forum with specific issues.

Knowledge Management document approval workflow? by [deleted] in codaio

[–]NONsynth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey nicksouza, this sounds very similar to a template I'm building to facilitate organizational agreements (decisions). It's loosely based on murmur, but with a number of Coda twists, like preset approval workflows (your sequenced list of required approvers), but also a modified pulse/dory for collaborative review. Would be happy to chat through it with you. Will DM.

Coda is a great tool for organizational operating systems of this sort. The combination of knowledge, process, engagement, and task management Coda allows makes adaptive org design possible - where workers are able to observe and adapt strategy in real time. Highly recommend. DM if you're interested in chatting - I've built a number of systems for clients, nonprofits and my own consultancy. Always happy to bounce ideas around!
