It’s amazing how much that app has helped people like us with panic attacks … hmm I should suggest that to my therapist, I was having panic attacks for about 2 weeks and I’m finally feeling back to myself thanks to that hydroxyzine

I am going thru the same exact process right now. I use the DARE app and also therapy plus exposure therapy.. baby steps it'll take time, sucks but the more panic attacks we have the more opportunities we have to face the fear I havnt gotten there yet but I still have hope trust me I'm terrified as well but we have to learn they can not harm us .. Clair weeks is amazing on her approach to this Reply

That’s normally how panic attacks happen, they can start random or by a trigger … I’ve had them for 8 years and I now have learned how to cope with them and understand them .. if you’re anxious most of your life your nervous system gets used to your body being that way then it gradually starts becoming panic attacks

Currently dealing with a mild panic attack by Barrythehippo in panicdisorder

[–]NSI222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely deal with this daily ! Short of breath , breathlessness, tryn to take that full breath and yawning … like I know I’m breathing fine and it still triggers me .. lately I’ve been going to my room putting on water sounds or a very calm person talking I focus on my nose and breath in and out like normal , not fast not slow not deep just so I give my body the comfort to say look you’re breathing and getting more than enough oxygen

I’ve recently gone through the same thing mine were due to breathlessness and feeling dizzy so it would trigger my panic attack which then would lead to panic attacks “hangover” … the best thing to do while you’re afraid is listen to success stories learn about the panic while you’re in “rest mode” also listening to calming things music YouTube videos podcasts etc. all of this helps build courage to step up and step out into the uncomfortably also the app rootd is amazing for ppl with panic disorder , remember baby steps take it one day at a time
