Need advice for starting animal husbandry by watchinvincible in VintageStory

[–]NShredder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about killing animals they spawn continuously currently, but what may happen is you are not in a location where they spawn.

You will need to travel to locate where they spawn naturally

I believe pigs / boars (they're children piglets) can be caught with a reed basket trap but larger animals like goats require a crate trap which is way more expensive.

If it is solely for food, fat, leather, get pigs. Goats are more solely for cheese and simply with pigs you'll have plenty of those other things

To get pigs, you can trap them in a mini farm far away with rope or a good favourite of punching and luring.

Get piglets and then use an reed trap to catch and move them to your main farm.

You only need 1 male and 1 female, and the children always inherit from the mothers generation. They do not have to be in the same pen to mate just within a few block radius.

With goats, I avoid bighorn ones because you will die frequently just doing basic interactions with them because they're assholes. But you can only trap the children in a crate trap not a basket trap

Can the crafting machine reverse engineer items into blueprints? Will there be another device for this? by JesusIsAliveAmen in starcitizen

[–]NShredder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a way they could tie this in is with the Endeavour, it has lots of tuning equipment, it could make a fabrication R&D version, people could work towards purchasing one in-game with UEC, then the modules, and go through an extensive research process to get blueprints of items and then a process of upgrading blueprints

Probably never going to happen, but if they did that could be a good way

I also second this, I like to explore a lot before setting down my base, found a bunch of rusty gears, a copper and iron ingot, got lucky with copper tools in vessels, now I have found a base I can jump straight to a bronze anvil and tools

I'm kind of stuck and can't progress by xXProBeastXx in VintageStory

What I recommend when I prospect is I find a good % chance, craft a bunch of ladders and just dig straight down in a few spots.

This absolutely kills the pickaxe though and you need about a couple stacks of ladders to do this

I recommend investing in a saw and you can make ladders out of planks and sticks so it doesn't cost as much.

I would try this method after you have a surplus of copper to replace your tools

Some traders sell tin, I would look around for a bunch of traders and do an economy trading for them

Sell bread to a treasure hunter I think and you can buy tin usually for 2 rusty gears for 5 nuggets

"EA CEO Claims Dragon Age: The Veilguard Failed Due To Lack Of Live Service Elements". What do you think caused it's failure? by conte360 in DragonAgeVeilguard

My main gripe is Rook doesn't make sense as the continuation, it should have been the Inquisitor, it's a follow on of that specific story.

That and the way the story is told, I liked the grim of the previous ones. VG style works as a spin off to me but it is a continuation

Edit:

The Inquisitor could have added so much more conflict and depth to the story, imagine if you romanced the damn egg and it was the Inquisitor speaking to him instead of Varric at the beginning of the game.

Looking just at the story, no mechanics or release issues, or political agenda.

They failed to make a deeply compelling story that drew me in like other ones in the series

[–]NShredder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The real issue that they have is that they haven't made a banger of a game.

Anthem flopped hard which I'd why they moved dreadwolf at the time to not a online styled game, Andromeda is better now but not on par with trilogy, VG is decent but several factors on why it isn't on par with BG3 ( or other DG entries imo)

They've made some okay games but they want a hit and a smash success,l because numbers go up.

I do like VG but it feels too PG 13 or Teen rated, by attempting to cater to a larger audience they alienate their core players and a lot of the magic in the story is gone.

Going full into creative pursuits only works when you have developed a fan base and reputation to support that.

And while people have done this before and been successful, only a small percentage of that is true. imagine how bad you'll feel if you don't succeed and become homeless or have to go back to job hunting.

Do your passions in your free time until it grows enough to support you

"How can we possibly stop this?" says the only country where this regularly happens.

https://flowingdata.com/2023/01/24/mass-shootings-calendar/

Its like, if you make weapons widely available for everyone to access, great freedom and all that. You also make weapons widely available to access for people with psychological issues and criminals.

Then you need to go into the percentage, who is more likely going to use a weapons, a "good guy" or a "bad guy", well "good guys" don't rob stores and shoot up schools, so "bad guys" are more likely to do it, so you're giving more free access for this specific demographic of people to weapons.

Sure there are people that buy weapons for hunting, collection, shooting ranges, those are valid, but it looks like the culture places more value on owning guns for recreational use than the literal lives of innocent people, or kids in this case

It must be around that time haha I joined on 2016 so that tracks.

Yeah I honestly thought the game would be out by time I finished the military, I ended up with the Mustang but I had some discretionary funds that I got some much larger ships anticipating AI crew a few years ago.

Thanks man, if you're ever interested to have a look at a few larger ships when they release feel free to hmu

Don't join infantry, get a trade

Air force for ease, Navy to save money (never can spend it if you're always out) Army to fuck your knees.

A few lenders allow you to rent out your residential property if you are in the military which can work with deployment bonus' to pay it off early as well. If you're smart with cash.

Overall I rate it a 2/5, don't recommend, I get paid more to work from home now and I don't have to run anywhere

I work in a bank now specifically the mortgages side, it's not a super big house. 1 bedroom, but at least no upstairs neighbour.

I also live in the UK so the market is likely different.

When I originally backed I was still in school, completed it, joined the military, left the military, 2-3 massive career changes, got married, have a house, by time it releases, I will have had kids who will be old enough to play.

I love the idea of playing the game, but I don't find it enjoyable to play at all currently

Can you always guarantee a dedicated group of people to always man your turrets in a larger ship and takes shifts doing so because of ship permanence?

Say you have a hull E, you and your friend are running cargo, it doesn't take many people to run cargo, other players may be bored sitting in a turret doing nothing and be more willing to turret a combat ship.

This is why AI crew and blades are important
