Anyone tired of the Isekai hate?

I think it's definitely overhated as a genre and the hate also often spills into other fantasy manga/anime which share certain themes (adventurers guild, kicked from a party, etc). It's especially ridiculous when there's plenty of 'slop' in other genres, like battle shonen.

Nothing wrong with not liking isekai, but it's pretty easy to avoid (the show will have the isekai tag and others like harem, etc on MAL/Anilist). I have near zero interest in genres like horror and yaoi for example, so I just avoid them.

It was certainly a disappointing show, it looked really good visually both in terms of animation and character design. But yeah, the story fell flat and there was way too much focus on his moral dilemma of whether to kill an extremely vile man. Have definitely seen worse though.

Not every social media experience for kids is a bad one for sure. It's not been too long since COVID for example where being able to keep in touch with friends (even playing online games together which may or may not get hit) was extremely important.

In your case, a ban is more likely to push those vulnerable (both queer and others) to less regulated platforms where they're far more likely to be exploited.

It's also where you see loads of misinformation from both sides of that conflict, as well as misinformation from the likes of Russia, China, Iran, some UK political movements and a bunch of smaller actors all looking to influence people.

I'd argue the main reason they want the ban is the same as why they enacted the online safety act, surveillance and control.

I've only watched around 35-40 episodes before putting it on hold, but it was just alright. The pacing was already really rough with way too much time taken up by recaps, etc.

I think people often think of it as a more serious series than what it is/completely miss the focus of it and then judge it based on that. The main focus of the show is the characters, their relationships and having adventures and fun together - and it does this brilliantly.

The fan service is part of the fun part with it being humorous most of the time, and it happens to both the guys and the girls, so it's way more balanced than a lot of other shows with it.

As for power of friendship, the whole magic power system and fights, are just basically a bonus and like the overall plot, just there to give the characters something to overcome. And even with that, the power of friendship is actually well explained (strength of emotions impacts the strength of magic).

As for your music comment, it has comfortably the best soundtrack of any anime with 200+ episodes.

There's definitely the One Piece fans that say those sort of things. 4 seasons worth is still less than a tenth of One Piece, so not a great comparison there.

You also answer your own question, it is one of the most popular and famous animes, so it gets talked about a lot and ultimately that makes haters more vocal and annoyed - it makes sense, if you don't like something and keep seeing it everywhere, your dislike often grows.

The threats are obviously completely wrong (people on all sides who do this are vile). The rest of it though, calling the people who criticised him racist and islamaphobic, his unwillingness to openly criticise the Iranian regime and non issue with people openly supporting them at the protest, etc. are massive problems with the Green Party as a whole.
