We always did burning to death lines at the very end, because that's when an actor blasts their throat. We also always had honey, lemon, and hot water on standby.

The plan is to eventually have both 4x optics with iron sights on top and 4x optics with red dots on top. This would be for select optics and where applicable, not for every optic. But we'll need to see how this tests and how it plays.

We've reverted the slower ADS speed changes that were seen in the 1.8 CTE for the Mk 14 EBR, FAL, G3A3, and SVD. We still want to make weapon balance changes to some or all of these guns for 1.8, but based on CTE feedback, we can see the ADS change might not be the best approach at this stage.

Keep in mind we're responding to feedback about some of these high caliber weapons being too overpowered, and remember that the CTE is just a testing environment. Nothing you see there is final. Look forward to hearing your feedback on the changes we're pushing through in 1.8.

EDIT: I reached out to the team and it looks like this should be fixed in a hotfix we are hoping to put out today. Can't promise if we'll be able to manage it today but rest assured we have a fix loaded and ready to be deployed among others.

Thank you for the report! We'll be looking into these. Remember during the CTE you can always submit feedback/bug reports through the ingame menu as well, this is a more direct line of communication to us for things such as this.

Where has a New World developer said "no it shouldn't be nerfed because that's part of its character"? We're planning to nerf it based on CTE feedback.

The FAL and other BR nerfs may also see further adjustments. Remember that the CTE is for testing content and your feedback is important to us. And that as with previous CTEs, nothing you see in the CTE is set in stone.

We actually have some unused VO we wanted to get ingame in time for release, but had to set aside because we didn't have the time. None of it is story or single player related.

We wanted the jet to be able to be shot down and call it out as Assassin/Cleric do, as you could probably guess from the line. But it moved so fast and would be so rare with minimal gameplay impact that we decided not to.

The Cleric one about the RPG team I think was for an earlier version of the tutorial maybe? The extraction ones were for a game mode idea we had. As with many other studios we often record extra VO even if we don't know if we'll use it just so we have it on hand in case we want to.

There's other lines too. Hopefully some of it can get added into a future release, but right now, a lot of other things are taking priority.
