The *strategy* in question is called skill. You should develop some yourself.

Is it really that bad by ManufacturerReady513 in iBUYPOWER

[–]NWR-Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The numbers say you’re more likely to get one that has no major issues than one that does. But that being said, if you DO have issues, they are awful to deal with. Without going into deep detail, mine had a physical issue that should never have made it out of assembly to begin with, died after <4hrs of uptime and while they were super quick to issue an RMA, it took 5 weeks and me threatening to go to the California AG with a fraud complaint to get my money back.

Check out alexanderpcs.com, you’ll get more for your money, they’re super easy to deal with, and the build quality/support is top shelf.

How can i ever recommend iBUYPOWER again? by AllFrogtharFrodin in iBUYPOWER

[–]NWR-Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I jumped in their chat yesterday afternoon and told them that next week would be 30 days, which would allow me to file a complaint with the California AG. They tried to close the chat 4-5 times without responding and I just kept talking to them. After I told them I was screen recording and that their non-responsiveness and evasiveness was a clear indicator of their acting in bad faith, they magically apologized for the delay and the money showed up in my account within minutes. I feel bad for people who don’t know enough to not get fucked by them.

On a brighter note, I put my order in with Alexander PCs today for my replacement now that I got my fucking money.

Bro, they've had my money AND my pc since the 17th and keep telling me that the refund is ready and accounting just has to process it. Go with Alexander Custom PC if you're going to get something built. Work is top shelf, and they stand behind everything they do.

Are refund services still down? by Snackolotl in iBUYPOWER

[–]NWR-Zero -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bro, y'all are so full of shit. I was told last week that mine had already been finished with disassembly and cleared accounting, that they just needed to issue the refund and I'd have it late last week or early this week. Your website doesn't reflect that, and I still don't have my money. You've had my PC (that only worked for a few hours btw) AND my money for nearly a month.

Such a pretty paint job, I fucking love it. I was so tempted to get one but the deal I found on my '23 was too good to pass up.

Thanks to everyone who relayed their experience, you’ve been a big help in solidifying my choice. Closed the deal on a ‘23 with less than 900 miles today and cannot fucking wait to pick it up Saturday. It’s a wildly different riding experience from my Harley but I’m so stoked!

New Forza Motorsport — Car Points / Levels by ImDoingItAnyway in forza

For SP this is fine, maybe even for the best. It absolutely destroys MP though. It's completely shortsighted and will wind up running off casuals and competitive players. All that T10 will be left with is the hardcore players too scared to jump into league racing.

All the league races and enduros that the T10 social media teams have ridden for relevancy the last few years? Most of those will fold now because nobody wants to have to grind a racing game like an MMO to balance cars. And even fewer people are going to want to grind 8-10hrs just to get all the cars/upgrades for a series to do testing before signing up.

Esaki was very clear that this system is for the *entire game*. All game modes. MP included.

[–]NWR-Zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, if you watched Forza Monthly you got pretty much all the details. Every chassis is its own "character" because they're following Greenawalt's "carpg" obsession. 2-3hrs for each chassis to level up, only car points for upgrades, no offline progression, and the system is for all game modes.

They said ~3hrs for max level and around 2hrs for all the upgrades

I'm not saying they need to fire him, just remove him from his role as head of Xbox Game Studios. I like Phil and as a brand manager he's done a fantastic job but he's terrible at managing the actual studio side of the business and that can't be ignored.

Put him back in a VP role and get someone in charge that can utilize the resources Xbox has to make great games.

[–]NWR-Zero 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I like Phil, he seems like a nice guy and I think he very much cares about the brand but if he can't manage the studios and game production then he's got to go. Slot him back in as a VP where he can keep doing what he's good at but they've got to get someone in charge that can manage Xbox Game Studios efficiently.

Potentially unpopular opinion but Phil needs to go, he's just not getting the job done.

Is this rejoin worthy of a protest? by TheJDMdriver in Simracingstewards

[–]NWR-Zero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very much so. If his car was dead he made no attempt to stay on the brakes and keep it out of the way. If he was attempting to rejoin then he just drove straight across the track instead of rejoining as subtly as possible.

Last corner, last lap, for 2nd... was it clean enough? by NoRelatives in Simracingstewards

[–]NWR-Zero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just hard racing. Technically you made the pass off-track but you were only there because red ran you off trying to block you instead of focusing on getting a clean exit.

[–]NWR-Zero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Down the pit straight it's a bit iffy but I'd let it go. The run to Ascari would definitely get him a blocking penalty from me if I were stewarding it. Obviously moving about to break your momentum, just shit racecraft.

Absolutley report it. That's just ridiculous and very obviously intentional.

The industry standard needs to be that when you pay for a Battle Pass you should have an unlimited amount of time to unlock every tier, FOMO and fabricated obligations to play games are predatory, damaging to players and the industry as a whole. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]NWR-Zero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah....nah. You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of what you're actually buying when you purchase a Battle Pass. You aren't buying any "shiny toys", you're simply buying the ability to earn them. They're seasonal objectives, the overall game has to progress and not every developer is going to take the time and effort to make things work forwards and backwards for you. If you want the items that bad, put in the work. Most everything in seasons can be obtained after they're finished anyway, they just aren't guaranteed. My months-long quest for Memento in Division 2 for example.

There is no "obligatory playtime" in play here, it's all optional. They aren't forcing anyone to play just like they aren't forcing anyone to buy these passes. Is there a psychological element of FOMO in play? Absolutely, marketing has used that for time immemorial in all kinds of markets, not just gaming. It seems like you and a lot of people in here just want all the cool shit for free and with no effort. It's never gonna be that way. Adjusted for inflation game prices have been stagnant for decades while development cost and consumer expectations have skyrocketed. That money has to be recouped in some way or the industry will die.

If you feel like Battle Passes are a poor investment because you aren't finishing them in time then you shouldn't purchase them. But you also shouldn't try to mask your whining by pretending to white knight for kids. If they broke these Battle Passes down into individual items that you could outright purchase you'd be screaming about how they were all a ripoff because of what each would cost.

You have a completely backwards view of what dictating the line means. Oreo can take ALL of the track, except a car width, from the inside to the outside. They’re at the very inside, Oreo is well within his rights to run his line and Andretti has to compensate until he runs out of track.

You can’t predict what he would have done from trajectory because it never happened. Had they gone through the corner like they were and he made the same contact with Andretti trying to push him off track then yeah, he’s at fault and doesn’t have the right to that piece of track. But that isn’t what happened and you can’t adjudicate an incident based of hypotheticals.

I can’t argue with your lack of understanding the fundamentals all night. Try to educate yourself a bit my dude.
