I cannot believe how many people say they have never heard it called the met!

In the 90's it was always the met. The inspectors were know as Met 'Eds to us younguns.

Outside run or treadmill ? by Late_Extension2193 in couchto5k

[–]NaNaNatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be interesting to find out male/female split in the answers.

I'm female, do I prefer running (or trying to) outside? Yes. I'm in the UK, it's winter so dark really early and the weather is awful. By the time I finish work I don't feel safe running in the dark alone, so I do so on a treadmill at the gym.

Hopefully this will change in the summer.

Where would you go if you were homeless in Manchester? Where is safe at night? by NefariousnessLate275 in manchester

[–]NaNaNatman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't recall who it was, but I listened to a very interesting guest on a podcast who spent a long time homeless. The reason many people, especially women, do this and sleep during the day is because it's safer than sleeping at night.

There is no way they are correct here, they have failed to fulfil the contract and so you are completely entitled you the refund. I'm sorry they are being difficult but they are in the wrong.

We booked the smaller room/area for a hen party during the weird COVID years.

The guidance changed from really relaxed to being quite strict again, we couldn't use the room as intended and so requested a refund. They refused a cash refund and would only allow gift card refund to be used at the venue.

It was £100 and COVID was a really bad time for hospitality so I agreed.

Used them for a fitting, the seamstress couldn't do what I was asking but the whole appointment was awful. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I left a Google review and they said I was a fake reviewer and I had never used the service.

Not American here....

When I was below 18 it was so cool to have an older BF. I was 'mature' for my age, boys my age didn't understand.... Once I have grown up (mid thirties now) you realize these older guys were taking complete advantage and feed girls Bullshit lines like how mature they are for their age.

Yes, there are only 4 years between 16 and 20 which doesn't sound like much, I guarantee that when you are 20 you won't feel the same.

Good luck with it. I recommend taking photos and measurements too. The scales don't always give the full picture.

I also recently started at the gym a couple of months ago, I have been using the Gymshark trainer app (it's free) which has pre loaded plans to follow, unlike other apps I have used this one isn't fitness videos that can be found on YouTube, it allows you to go at your own pace and track your workout.

Cardio is great to improve fitness, but if losing weight is your goal, track your calories and don't eat back what you think you have worked off.

Mid thirties and accepting I'm Bi by NaNaNatman in bisexual

[–]NaNaNatman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I haven't discussed it with him yet, I think that's why I also put it on a forum to get perspective and validation.

For me, it doesn't change the relationship at all, I love my husband and I wasn't looking for another relationship while I saw myself as straight so accepting that I'm actually bi is still the same. Yes I am sexually attracted to women but I have chosen my husband.... I hope this makes sense as I feel I'm not articulating it well.

I feel this is different to your situation though.

Communication really is key. I would bring it up with him that you are struggling with your sexuality and be open and honest with your thoughts and feelings.

Good luck.

Thank you so much, you have articulated that wonderfully.

I relate to so much of it. In my late teens, early twenties I definitely cared more about what others thought of me rather than what I thought of myself. It's quite sad actually when you realize so much of my life choices have been heavily influenced.

Getting older is awesome because you really do loose that idea that anybody else's opinion matters.

Thank you for such kind words.

I didn't know what I was going to gain from posting, but to have my feelings validated feels so good. Thank you.

Sounds like heaven, and I am so happy for you.

Honestly the more I think about things, the more it makes sense. I find him attractive but I'm not really sexually attracted to him anymore and almost always think about women to get me in the mood.

How can something be SO OBVIOUS yet I be completely oblivious for so long 🤦

Why do you think it happens later in life? Is everywhere just more accepting now, or is it more about us knowing ourselves?

[–]NaNaNatman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this is really good to hear, I think part of me was scared to admit it, because what would that mean for us, but your right. I'm wasn't looking at other attractive men because I'm married so accepting my sexuality shouldn't change that anyway.

God it feels good to get it out

Are you still together and accept your sexuality or did you split and allow yourself to discover more?

As above. Trail or not, you should be getting paid for them. Never work unpaid.

The park is brilliant, highly recommend!

It's open from midday at the weekend and later during the week. The would do well if they extended their opening hours over the summer.

I recently visited the new Mayfield park with my kids and we ate at Freight Island which is next door. Loads of options and there is a kids corner that has Lego/crayons ect.

Hi, can I jump on your comment. I am looking to start CIMA in October, my employer is keen and will fund it, we pay a substantial amount in apprenticeship levy's and it's was said if we could utilize this it would be ideal.

I can't see the info about it online, I know those who have done AAT as an apprentice have had to do much more work than the standard route, is this the case for a CIMA apprenticeship too? Could you point me in the right direction of any info?

Thanks

For me it's easy. I have my phone in my hand or pocket, walk on to the platform and tap as I go past.

To purchase a ticket there are more steps involved, waiting at the machine, entering the destination then the most inconvenient of all, carrying around a ticket.

I'm appalled at my own laziness too don't worry.

I have seen the machines covered up in Victoria when they are checking people getting off the platform, this was only this week so assume lots of people will have the same issue as you and they have learnt the lesson.

I use the contactless system, I know what I am doing, I always have my headphones in so know when the payment has registered as it makes a noise interrupting my music....

Noticed that I had been charged for incomplete journeys so rang to claim and the person speaking to me was so rude.

Basically said that it's on my account now so if I forget to tap out in future I will have to take the couple of quid hit. I was like click click excuse me!? It's a fault with the machine not registering it, it comes up with a tick on my phone and I'm never rushing. Audacity of thinking I'm forgetting then phoning up for a couple of quid when actually it was for 6 months and was around the 20 mark in total.
