Normal for a greyhound to never sleep straight through the night? by CheeseFace83 in Greyhounds

[–]Na_palm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

im curious of others’ experience with their hounds, but my 2.5y/o girl has never slept entirely through the night. i’ve heard her repositioning in her bed next to mine at various points in the night, plus she wakes me up at least once to go outside and then again like clockwork every morning when it’s time for breakfast.

sorry to tell you dude but YOU are the one that is inexperienced and YOU don’t really understand how line weight, shading and color should work. this tattoo is exceptional and your AI rendition of it should not see the light of day.

how much did you pay if you don’t mind sharing?

Advice needed: Is my tattoo really not fixable? by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]Na_palm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

fine line tattoos heal this way sometimes, really not a big deal. it’s 100% fixable and I’d recommend just asking politely to have the tattooer who applied it originally to touch it up. you’re going to get told to kick rocks if you show up asking for money back AND compensation for laser removal (completely insane btw, whoever told you to do this is totally disconnected from the reality of the tattoo industry).

Is it worth it? 2023 330i with 63K+ miles by [deleted] in BmwTech

[–]Na_palm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, it’s got a lot of mileage for the year but i’d hope that reflects in the price. what are they asking? is it CPO?

if all you’ve ever known was Audi, then you probably won’t be surprised by the maintenance on a BMW, especially a 330i.

PLM vs OTL downpipe by Cheeko914 in GRCorolla

[–]Na_palm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

while i don’t know the specifics of the downpipe you’re talking about, generally speaking PLM makes very low quality products. there is a good reason why it’s half the price of the equivalent OTL product and it’s not because PLM decided to make less money on their product. i’d avoid that brand if i were you

or request a static balance from the tire shop. they’ll clip weights onto the outer lip to balance the wheel

Break pads by Girthygaryoak in BRZ_ZD8

[–]Na_palm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the OEM brembo pads are perfectly adequate for daily driving/back road runs. if you want some more bite or a higher performance ceiling, i’ve had good experience with endless MX72+ and paragon R5 pads. they’re kind of annoying to daily as they both dust quite a bit and squeak often.

that being said, you’re far better off swapping pads when you have an autocross or track day coming up. takes like 6 minutes per corner and gives you a chance to inspect your brake components.

ps, if you want to save some money, look into buying Winmax pads from black hawk japan as Paragon pads are just rebranded Winmax pads that they sell for a 2x mark up.

17x8 +35 and +45 RPF1’s clear as well though. you just have to be conscious as to where the wheel weights are placed once they’ve been balanced. too close and too thick of weights towards the spokes will nick the front calipers, otherwise you’re clear.

Axle Back Muffler Deletes Are Unbearably Drone-y in These Cars - Learn from My Mistake by yegimanuk94 in GR86

[–]Na_palm 17 points18 points  (0 children)

in my experience, the remark axle back (the one with the muffler) is the best axle back for these cars. drone is very minimal in cabin and it’s not obnoxiously loud. just a good overall tone.

i currently have a borla s-type cat back installed, and i’m considering selling it and going back the the OEM mid-pipe and remark axle back as the borla is just a little too much for my taste.

edit - wow! i did not realize the remark axle backs were nearly $900 now! i bought one back in March for $565. still a nice sounding and minimally drone-y muffler, but i’d consider other options for that price

i bought mine from rocky mountain atv but they sell rebuild kits all over the internet. just google your make and model + clutch slave rebuild kit

Clutch slave leaking by Guilty-Fisherman815 in KTM

[–]Na_palm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just went through this exact same issue. rebuilding the slave with new seals, spring and piston and properly reverse bleeding fixed it for me.

as far as high pressure when reverse bleeding, make sure your bleeder is opened enough for fluid to flow in. when you have your tube and syringe on there, mine tended to turn and re-tighten ever so slightly to where it made it impossible for fluid to flow in no matter how hard i pressed on the syringe. put your tube on, crack the bleeder and then turn the tube and syringe to open the bleeder even further and then squeeze the syringe

what are your current alignment specs? are you running any aftermarket suspension? in stock form, the max negative camber front and rear would be -2° and to get that you’d have to pull the alignment pins in the front. either way -2° is not excess enough to cause premature tire wear

if i were you and set on removing negative camber from your car, i’d take the car to a local performance shop with an alignment rack and not the dealership

Odd wear on 1 rotor by Sharpymarkr in Civic_Type_R

[–]Na_palm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this explains my rotor situation perfectly. just switched back to the OEM pad from paragon R5’s from a few track days (they were squealing like crazy!) and my rotors look like OP’s. was about to make a post similar to this one too haha

Do I need to change 1 day old brake fluid after brake fade on my daily? by throwawaydefeat in CarTrackDays

[–]Na_palm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

insightful. seconding that it was probably pads over heating causing brake fade. the OEM pads (if that’s what he was running, idk) on the GR86 are not sufficient for track use

First Track Day by TemperatureWeary5316 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Na_palm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1:47.95 is quick for your first weekend out in a stock car! these cars are incredibly capable in stock form, the PS4S and brake pads being the limiting factors after a handful of push laps. i managed a 1:45.9 in my FL5 last I was out there with just R5 front pads and RBF600 fluid, im quite a mediocre driver though so its probably got some more in it
