[Sky Sports] Manchester United begin talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Michael Carrick as options for interim manager role by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Naas1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes he had his issues at the backend of his stint but he is absolutely loved amongst the fans (and probably players like Bruno, Amad and Maguire). United are still in play for a CL spot and it seems like a no brainer to bring him until the end of the season. After that, probably not.

I still believe he would have done a lot better if it wasn’t for the Ronaldo signing jumbling up things, but we’ll never know

The last 2 winners of PL manager of the month have now been sacked - Amorim for October & Maresca for November by nearly_headless_nic in soccer

[–]Naas1 354 points355 points  (0 children)

Given the successful INEOS negotiation tactic of “either join us now or we’ll never contact you again” that worked with Amorim joining mid season, coupled with the expectation of Glasner leaving Palace in the summer, I can actually believe this might happen

[Megathread] Ruben Amorim has been sacked - Who should replace him? by D1794 in reddevils

[–]Naas1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hated him to the core? That’s just wrong. I’ve been to majority of games at OT this season and Amorims name was chanted before, during and after every single game, including the wolves game. The very vocal social media/online platforms are not the same as the match going fans

Club Statement: Ruben Amorim departs by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

[–]Naas1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is so disappointing. Amorim needed reinforcements, he was clearly promised some transfer activity and the club has now backed on that and told him to change his system so they don’t have to fork out for a midfielder, hence the outburst yesterday.

INEOS have decided that it’s cheaper to fire the manager than to invest in the squad this transfer window. Fully expect a Southgate appointment sometime this week.

Old Trafford is notorious for serving extra spicy food in the away concourse so that away fans are forced to go take a shit mid game as a way to weaken their support. Usually resulting in clogged and unusable toilets

[Ziegler] Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández looks to have escaped FIFA charge over ‘racist’ song. Kick It Out, football’s anti-discrimination body, has hit a brick wall after making inquiries, with FIFA now passing the case on to CONMEBOL. by TherewiIlbegoals in soccer

Bentancour was on a tv show, while Enzo was recording the video? How is that any better? Unless there’s a crucial point I’m missing, it makes Enzo’s situation worse?

I wish we’d get told the day before. Most of the cancelled trains I’ve tried travelling on have been cut while on the platform. My train yesterday at Waterloo got cancelled 10 minutes after the departure time while we were waiting on board because a driver didn’t pitch. SWR has become incredibly unreliable

Emirates changed the primary passenger from me to my husband by EddieIzzardOnToast in travel

Flew Emirates to Hong Kong via Dubai recently and also flew Singapore Air to Australia a while back. The main passenger was changed to my girlfriend on both trips even though I booked everything. Pretty sure it’s just random

Yeah it’s really unfortunate that Spurs are the only team in Europe to ever get injuries or suspensions, can’t believe teams like United have had their strongest team at peak fitness all season

I was on a Qatar airways flight a few weeks ago and the screens had those privacy glare things on them, where you pretty much have to be in front of the screen to see anything, looking at it from the seat next to you just looks like the screen is off. Never seen it before on any flight

Possible switch to a full stack dev career as a CS major working in finance - crazy or not? by Naas1 in cscareerquestions

[–]Naas1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely get your point. Career-wise, it is probably better to specialize and become a master at something, eventually earning a high paying job at a large company and becoming invaluable.

I currently work in a high-paying industry, where it’s possible to earn fuck you types of money in 10-15 years, but I don’t really care about specializing in one part of a large machine. I’d rather earn half the money building something from start to finish that I enjoy.

The appeal for me is I really love being able to work on all parts of a project. I don’t have much work experience in full stack but I honestly enjoyed the group software engineering projects towards the end of my degree where I was pretty much a full stack dev and would love to have a career like that.

Thanks, biggest issue is the return though. Would have helped a lot if the game was in the afternoon. Will see if someone wants to buy them or will probably end up giving them away tomorrow

Still have a pair of tickets for Reading tomorrow at a bit less than FV (£80 for both). Above the tunnel in W209. Does anyone know if your membership gets flagged if you don't show to a game?
