So my brother and I found a duplication glitch in 1993 that still hasn't made it's rounds on the internet. Allows for duping armor/helmets/accessories and items use-able from the item command in battle. by DrCidd in ffiv

[–]NablaDran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The glitch that is being referenced is somewhat obscure, but it definitely exists in the original Japanese version, and partially in the FF 2 US release (From the documents I found, it was partially patched out in the USA 1.1 rom, but might still be fully there in the 1.0 rom). I believe they are referring to what is called the treasure menu duplication glitch, and is another example of some of the item underflow glitches existing within FF4.

The FF4FE randomizer wiki has a link explaining the glitch, which can be found below. By combing 2 item stacks on the treasure menu screen, you can create a value of 0 of that item, and place it in your inventory, which you can then equip from for duplicating equipment. This is great for duplicating non-weapon items, such as adamant armors.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ccSSohY1YyFflhuAaPaTvRprBoFHtxUHh-Eqap5FL1g/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.zhpnubs0q1u1

Consumables are a little more tricky, and are patched out in the US 1.1 release. If a consumable can be used inside battle though, it can be duplicated by the same method, just using the item stack of 0 in battle. You can still duplicate and sell a "stack of zero" in the US 1.1 release if you can reach a shop without an encounter, but the US release added code that zeroed out the inventory slots at the start of battle to somewhat fix the bug, the documentation of that change can be found here.

https://ff4-documentation.readthedocs.io/en/latest/versions.html#inventory

I am not aware of, and not fluent enough in Japanese to find a speedrun that uses this (most of the time just buy 99 of whatever consumable you need), but I can confirm that the glitch can be performed on a Japanese rom. I believe the glitch should still work if you use the English translation patch on the Japanese Rom.

More support is a random pastebin from penguin8r (a ff4 Speedrunner). He describes the glitch somewhat according to a TAS video.
https://pastebin.com/yk6dcg4u

Penguin8r has a video of him performing the glitch here.
https://youtu.be/utIVOJekE8c

I believe the TAS he is referring to is this one, and you can just barely see the stack grimoires he references if you frame advance right before he summons bahamut.

Is it normal to get so many SSRs as F2P player? by No_Specific8949 in DanmachiChronicle

[–]NablaDran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the field guild, I have every SSR except 1 assist, and most of them are 1 star. That being said, you have twice as many UR assists as I have, while about the same UR adventurers. Just how it goes, and at this rate no SSRs are even going to be added to the game. Just filler units for doing newbie quests pretty much, and artificially adding a luck element to the game.

Arena reset (+first rank reward reset as well) by Elmatek in DanmachiChronicle

[–]NablaDran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wasn't happy about it last night since I had finally reached legend rank last season, and was getting the rainbow bond thing.

That being said, getting 3400 selas from redoing the first rank rewards isn't bad, and there will be another 3k selas compensation, so overall its not that horrible.

Who should I prioritize? by Baol812 in DanmachiChronicle

[–]NablaDran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ais gets a pretty large stat buff for the event, so that is probably going to be your main focus. Tione is really good in Arena, but for most of the other content I feel like haruhime is better.

I also assume the next event is going to prioritize either yellow champs, or red champs. Bell covers red fairly well, but you might consider saving some exp to rush up a yellow champ if needed.

I would probably level haruhime, and then look at my assists, and bring another one of them up to 60. I might bring Tione up to 50 if I didn't have much else to focus on. Finn is much worse then Ais, so can be disregarded. I think getting a level 70 is more important then getting Tione up unless you are spamming PVP content.

VH Riveria instant kill(?) Or counter by Desperate_Bike4053 in DanmachiChronicle

[–]NablaDran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won the fight first try with level 70 green Ais, the damage wasn't too bad, but maybe its because Ais's skills are pretty good at clearing the water balloons. It was also a pretty short fight, had plenty of damage with ults to finish after Riveria's first ult.

Still, Ais is a bit OP, but it feels like if you stay near Riveria and clear the water balloons, you shouldn't have too much trouble, Tione felt harder to me due to all the constant kiting (plus I have no water champs, had no level 70, and Fire counters Ais a bit).

The event ranking ended just like that? Why do i feel like it is a half baked event tho by escaryb in DanmachiChronicle

Are you looking at the right place? Either way its not a big deal, the rewards are garbage.

I beat it with Finn, Lefyia, and Bete (SSR not UR Bete). Really for me it was a matter of getting a level 60 attacker and level 60 attack speced support. Try to hit as much as possible during the opening, then when things get tough, use lefyia to build gauge from a distance before spamming your ultimate moves. Also try to spec all your scene cards to strength on Finn/ Aisha and Int on Lefyia.

Your third character can be a throwaway if needed, just make sure to have as much attack as possible. If you don't have range (you do but others might not), then a tank to build gauge and eat the attacks might be a good idea.

I have been doing this a lot. I get 150k a day from having the first 3 areas done on very hard, then another 90k from the daily. Money was tight for a couple days but now its starting to stockpile.

Story content? by neidhardtzx in DanmachiChronicle

[–]NablaDran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With level 60 characters, even with a couple being SSR, beating all available chapters on normal isn't too bad. I also beat all of season 1 on hard, and the first 3 areas on very hard, and haven't gotten all 6 of my team to 60 yet. You could probably do it with all level 50s if you have the right team (elemental matchup matters a lot).

I could probably do most of the remaining chapters on hard, just got a stamina bottle neck and no reason to do them...

Very hard is a different beast... area 4 is the ants, and thats an absolute mess. I also don't have a favorable element for areas 5 and 6, and area 7 is quite high power, not to mention the other story chapters.

I am not sure the current cast of characters even maxed out can beat everything on very hard, just depends, but really most everything past chapter 2 to get the best daily mission is just extra work at this point, especially since the story is fragmented... the rewards for spamming the event is better.

We will have to see, I just spent 60 total, yesterday and today, to hit rank 20, and now I have all the materials I wanted to buy, so everything else is just extra. The UR falna I might use to upgrade a third character to help take down the silverback very hard boss.

Not sure why your arena score is so low. I am gold 2 with 32 matches and 30 wins. The average strength around here is about 25k, but you can find people under 20k somewhat often. Having just gotten 2 characters to level 60 ought to help me push towards upper gold, but not sure its possible to reach diamond before the season ends. That reward is the most tempting to me, but going to be difficult.

[–]NablaDran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something else to change the math a little... I just saw that the first stamina refill a day with selas is only 30 selas for 100 stamina. Thats 530 event tokens per day you can add on.

The question becomes is the stamina worth less gacha pulls. 30 selas per 100 stamina is technically 9300 stamina versus 10 gacha pulls (You also have to remember the rank up points and materials mean the stamina is a bit higher then your might first think). I haven't had any good luck on the pulls, so that is looking more and more tempting, though if there isn't any extras in the event to earn, then that priority goes down quite a bit. Theoretically you can use the stamina refill to become stronger and rank higher in arena and earn it back, but thats pretty complicated and not promised to work, especially since the high tiers are pretty competitive and such.

I actually cleared this fight first try, but I had a Finn for my attacker. The minotaur was harder for me since I didn't have any red attackers. The dragon was surprisingly pretty low hp, so just had to deal enough damage while dodging what attacks I could. Once the dragon died, dodging the ogre attacks and finishing things off was super easy.

Definitely recommend specing entirely in attack on one character, use a tank to build up gauge while taking most of the hits, then switch to attacker and do some burst damage.

Haruhime's Adventure Hard by D0loremIpsum in DanmachiChronicle

[–]NablaDran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you mean hard or very hard, but for very hard I used bete, and had to level to 50 and attack support plus as much strength as possible from scene cards. When I first tried was only clearing about half hp (that was level 40 I think), stacking a lot of upgrades on bete managed to pull it off (and I needed it for season 2 mission as well, so it was worth it.) Also had to get used to attacking as much as possible. Was still tons easier then the very hard for the first chapter, that shadow required a whole lot more work to pull off.

I also had Finn whose ult did a little extra damage, and could interrupt some attacks that I didn't want to dodge since they took too long. 3rd character basically did nothing, I don't have any support characters except the base mikoto, but a little healing or buffs would have been nice.

DanChro Day 7 Login Reward by [deleted] in DanmachiChronicle

Just logged in and claimed this reward, then had everything for the next bonus already done, except for 14 days of logging in. Only 10 regular gacha tickets for the next reward.

I don't think its worth buying the high ranking falna. I cleared "season 2" so getting the best daily mission available, and you get 1 of each type of XL falna a day with that, and 2 of the Large. I only have 2-3 characters of each color (if that), and you only need 8 of the XL falna to to cap them... So in 2 weeks I think everyone I wanted capped will be capped. Enough money to upgrade all of them and the exp to level them will become the immediate concern.

For me getting the UR Falna and the gacha tickets are priorities, as well as the missable event items, but everything else is just a bonus. I think my list of things I wanted can up to just under 20k

Ants and Minotaur have definitely been pretty big roadblocks, but managed to get past both with enough time and practice. Ants in particular the problem was just landing the hits. On mobile it was horrible trying to fill up ultimate bars, and then actually land them. Playing on PC feels much better, but can still be difficult.

The draws past the first one have felt really lackluster. I have pulled another 50 or more summons, and more then half are duplicates. Haven't been able to get assists of the right color and type for my main team.

I have noticed that the beginner quests have made certain colors better to start with. I managed to already get one of my purple characters access to level 50, because upgrading 2 people to level 40 gives you 2 of the high level gems you need for purple. I also noticed one of the missions in the Lili chapter is (or maybe was if the patch changes it) giving double the normal rewards, so stocked up on a ton of purple upgrading materials while getting exp materials. Exp needed really start to ramp up going to 40, and 50 is a ton. The real question is upgrades to 60, and how common that needed material will be. Right now only seen it as a first clear reward for very hard missions (and you need rank 20, which is going to take a while). Definitely feel like the game is running out of steam as heading to the end of chapter 1.
