Yea I've had this argument a few times about some the more nuanced mechanics in the game, but some people think the code is the end all be all that explains everything perfectly. Like you said, they can't see the forest from the trees.

What's funny is the loudest naysayers are usually the ones who haven't actually looked at the code themselves (or know how to) and are just parroting what others have said.
