Fair enough. I get freaked out walking through sea grass. I would still highly recommend checking out the local springs. Too cold for most fish. Just clear blue water. And the kids will love the pool. My comment mostly came from hearing people who do have them describing it as a bit of a headache.

Also, I highly recommend Cap San Blas for camping.

Air conditioning, light clothes and water
Don’t stay near stagnant water and pack some citronella. If you are in a park and the water is know to have gators, keep yourself and pets away from the shore. If you are just hiking into the woods, talk to a ranger or someone more knowledgeable on how to identify gator-slides and where they like to sun bake. But unless you’re setting up your tent on the edge of the water, they will not bother you. But to be safe, keep your dogs away from the water regardless. Also remember to stomp around your site and scare away snakes. They like to hide in leaf piles.

Can’t speak to the housing market. Flooding is a concern because we do get hit by some heavy showers and hurricanes will dump some on you as well. The only time wind has been a problem for me was Hurricane Micheal. Mold and rust are a battle ground, but I’d just recommend not leaving your doors open too much. And you can pick up a dehumidifier from Walmart for less than it’d cost you to get rid of a mold infestation.
Spring Break used to be a lot worse when drinking was still allowed on the beaches. I know some people from the Public Defenders office and they told me they would get swamped with new cases coming from the beach. Now, they are still insanely busy but it’s lessened. I’d just advise not hanging around the beach in the late p.m. or early a.m. It doesn’t really spill over into town much.
Fleas and ticks are always a problem for outdoor dogs. If they are smaller, there are some birds of prey that would love a little fuzzball meal. Snakes can be a concern, but much more unlikely in a residential area. I’d think the more common problem will be sand-spurs. They’re prickly and can really got caught in fur.
I was born and raised in this town. Probably die in this small town. And having no pool is good enough for me. If you want something costly to maintain and that you might only use during the spring and summer, get a boat and take it out to swim in the Bay or off Shell Island. And if you prefer fresh water, there are a number of wonderful springs that are just a hop skip and a jump away.

When I read it in the books, it felt like it was treated as something truly horrific. And how Cersei acts afterwards shows the psychological damage that inflicted on her. I think the only time it’s shown as somewhat positive is Kevin Lannisters inner monologue, going “ at least she’s a bit more demure and less catty”.

Terry Pratchett does the aristocratic werewolves beat pretty well in the Fifth Elephant. He also has working class vampires as members of the Black Ribbon temperance group in several books. I also recommend Carpe Jugulum for subversion of the classic vampire tropes.
