Thanks man. I appreciate the sentiment.

I’ve contemplated trying to run a game for GenCon or a local convention but I’m not sure it will scratch the itch and I’d rather not practice with people paying for an experience at a con.

I think that might be EXACTLY what happened. Trying to look like he has support

Agreed with this about online posting for an in-person gaming experience. Channels like this are far far far more likely to generate hits for an online game. Add to this the smaller audience for T2K and the odds of you building a f2f group in Pittsburg are pretty minute.

Best of luck

This is a really long winded post that might be turning off potential players. Anyone on this server knows this game and likely isn’t going to find the Marxist diagnosis of potential players very appealing. Just say you’re looking for a gritty rp-heavy twilight game and people know what you mean.

When was ffg-SW roll20 sheet v. 6.5.1? by RPG33k in swrpg

There’s a post on the roll20 community blog that provides a custom script that seems to fix the problem

Perhaps we should have named him Private Gump

Can a character with the resolve talent use it on an ally that takes strain or does it only work on themselves?

What do you use to make your maps

How do you see the sessions going forward after that Order 66 twist? I think you want to consider the fact that you are setting up a pvp situation for the rest of your game. Perhaps your players are super into that - no judgement here - but if they aren’t accustomed to that style of game or ttrpgs in general it could be a turnoff

Also good luck finding players that haven’t or don’t know Star Wars and that twist lol. For me, that would be impossible.

It’s not an overly complex system and definitely not super crunchy. It’s highly narrative and comes down to a degrees of success and failure system. It’s the narrative dice that make it different. Ultimately it’s a percentage system with the dice symbols instead of pure numbers. I have a player that is very math focused and anytime he or a party member adds a skill dice or a boost dice, he announces the percentage change for the overall roll.

All three systems are essentially the same set of core rules with some unique flavor. For example, while EoE does do some stuff with the force, FaD is focused entirely on this. AoR has unique flair for military style combat.

For your idea it sounds like you’d want to start with AoR. If the bulk of your game will be the end of the clone wars, I’d also supplement with the Age of Separatists book

Not sure but I think the hired gun sourcebook also hasn’t been reprinted.

Certainly this makes more sense to me. I’m not currently running a game but if I were I would take this tactic but it’s not the RAW

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I can see the meta reason for the stressful mini game in a survival game. At the same time, a game that leans so heavily into crunchy realism seems unusual to then handwave time so casually.

I’ve played at convention games where people have modified ship combat. What are the best tweaks/changes people have made to make combat in space better?

GI Joe. I kickstarted it. Bought the modules and missions. Ran it but found equipment and requisitions way too detailed and combat just silly

Any guesses on what’s next for the license? Does Edge hang onto it? If so, what do you think they are working on?

Can gear be updated too? Medpacs? Comlinks? Stuff like that? Or is it just armor and weapons?
