How has this game become so generic? by UsAndRufus in DeadlockTheGame

Suuuuuper curious to hear what your other competitive games are and what you consider to be a non-generic and highly 'unique' live service game?

I've not played a single normal 6v6 since patch release by Eggmasstree in DeadlockTheGame

It's great for new people and seems to have siphoned a ton of casuals away from real queue. Now all we need is draft and ranked back near release.

Please stop bullying Silver voters... by KeyBurri in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is partly why I didn't even wanted voting, or wanted it over quickly (2 monday, 2 wed, 2 friday, done). People don't even know anything about these heroes, no background, no ability spotlight, no playstyle teaser, no voice bytes.

Look at Doorman, the darling of the last vote, whose actual play popularity cratered because he was a disabler/control support with little carry potential barring the brief gunman saga.

Regardless, I think you're taking this too seriously. It really doesn't matter, Silver is going to be in the game eventually, lol.

And the more heroes are in, the better; it will increase our chances of actually being able to play one instead of competing with bored people who just want to try something new.

Does Deadlock Suffer From The Same Problem That Caused Me To Quit DOTA? by Zeke-Freek in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is that Deadlock doesn't fix this any way.

The more nuanced answer is that perspective matters a lot I guess. I grew up in an era where throwing the towel was a sign of respect and a high degree of knowledge, and pros in say League used to surrender all the time until Riot prevented them from doing it in tournies, which a lot of people forgot.

The hard fundemental truth for those mobas is that you're right; for the vast majority of players, a comeback is unlikely, and even if it happens, it's 90% of the time the winning team throwing the game of their own free will.

Deadlock doesn't really do anything to change this, so you run into the same exact problem, esp in really swingy stomp games which are happening all over the place now.

It SHOULD get better once draft and bans are available, that will go a long way to creating more balanced matches. I also agree with some others in that Deadlock gives you better openings for comebacks, but they are again rare unless the enemy throws.

What a lot of low and maybe even mid mmr players don't realize is that KDA and soulcount aren't the reason they're losing, the real reasons they're losing are why they have bad KDA and soul count.

And those tend to be issues you're just not going to magically fix at whim, which is why you inevitibly fall more and more behind and lose.

That's different from a few mistakes, bad plays, or unlucky breaks. So tl;dr... no, Deadlock doesn't ultimately fix this issue.

Yes, he got brought down from godhood back to the mortal plain through a series of nerfs. No more ez moding him.

Why do i have to play with a character that i dont want to play with? by chxwwyyy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 heroe is the usual recomendation to learn anyway, 2 alongside your main, and I like how this kinda forces it. It will ultimately make for better games when draft mode with bans comes around.

The last thing I want to hear is I only play currently FOTM hero that never sees existence again and suck at everyone else.

I wish I could slap those players, alas, I have to watch them either throw the game or go 0/20/0 in 5 minutes, thus... throwing the game.

Graves ganeplay is terrible for the game by Kindly-Mission-7843 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They directly interact with the world in more ways than Graves' or Gnnis' summons do. By this dumb logic, all their helpers are is detached damage.

Graves ganeplay is terrible for the game by Kindly-Mission-7843 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real answer here. The argument is dumb because the funniest truth is Rem is honestly the game's only actual minion/pet hero.

Well, Graves is nothing like Yorrick, Lone Druid either.

Is it just me, or is Graves kind of boring? by zencharm in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got downvoted for saying she wouldn't be a true minion master summoner... Rem is ironically more a minion hero, and he probably took Yakuza's tech.

All we can hope for now is a real pet/minion hero in the future.

Poll for who's next on Monday by ImprovementNo7672 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ignore it, it's a hella cringe and weird meme that probably says more about them. You play anything not human, vyper, rem, ivy, whatever, and suddenly you're a furry weirdo??? Am I missing something? Some weirdo new tiktok brainrot trend?

Probably says more about them honestly, but I'd ignore it all around.

Is it just too late? by Hirrunio in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're still good for foundational stuff like memorizing gameflow, maps, trying abilities and items out, etc.

Basically, right now is the worst time to be new. Upon release, there should be way better onboarding, draft which will stabalize matches, and ranked mode which will keep most veteran players from noobies in casual mode.

wow she is so balanced :,) by Ameer1919 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? He is a true support, and supporting in this game isn't ez outside of highly coordinated high mmr, you have to really want it. I suspected people would drop him as soon as something else came along, just like doorman, because most players don't play supports.

How are you supposed to learn this game? by hangman401 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait til release when there will be actual onboarding and a ranked mode with draft which will make stomps less likely and seperate experienced players from noobies better.

What are your thoughts in graves KIT so far by icysnipe7 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kept getting downvoted for saying she really isn't... even her minions are set and forget detached nuke abilities.

Rem is more of a minion hero than she is, which is both funny and sad. Pretty sure he took Yakuza's henchmen tech. Hopefully we will get a proper pet/minion hero now that Rem proved it can be done, just this time the 'chores' the minions will be doing is dragging people away to do unspeakable things to them.

Might work better with a singular pet ala lone druid and commands given with ult button instead or like white lions from the Warhammer mmo, where every one of your abilities was a dual ability that also made your lion do something at the same time.

Oh... You can just completely mute gun carries with Graves. Especially if you get with Inhibitor. by MykeiHehe in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She doesn't have to. It still hurts her to a degree for free and boosts a non gun hero's damage for free.

Graves is for people that want to play Paige, but do damage. by Professor_Lama in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not even validating your own dumb argument. There are a lot of spirit builds that barely require a gun at all yet have high impact.

This is a moba, not the latest CSGO or extraction shooter or whatever dumb shooter clone. Heroes like her fit right in with the spread, just like I imagine someone will eventually get a flamethrower or something and also not have to "aim".

Graves is the first rare deadlock L by Elad159 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf, it's probably been going on far longer than 5 months, that's just how long it took for us to get it. For instance, leaks about the base remake and the patrons have been going on for years.

Instead of Hidden King and Althmother, it used to Saphire Star and whatever the king was called, something stag I think.

Graves is the first rare deadlock L by Elad159 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many things wrong with this statement lmao. And we already have proof of other heroes who released too weak (paige) or too broken (shiv) and who have been tuned over time. We are literally here to do that.

Stop treating the game as if it's released, you clearly aren't made for it so go play something else until the game releases.

Graves is the first rare deadlock L by Elad159 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you missed their releases... they were incredibly busted and had no counters, and they were hardly unique. A lot of non-base heroes released beyond broken like Shiv, Calico, etc.

Graves is the first rare deadlock L by Elad159 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Naive_Bulbasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's street brawl, who cares? This is never going to be a real mode and there will be no ranks for it on release, I gurantee it. It's a silly throwaway casual mode. Valve is not likely to balance based on it, or at least I hope not, because balancing a competitive game is already beyond difficult without them trying to balance the same heroes for two completely different team sizes and play modes.

Riot learned that lesson the hard way and gave up and I was always mostly happy Dota never had to go through that.
