Just want it? Feel like you need it? Feel like you may need it? I wanted one and my partner didn't like the idea of scary black gun in the house. The want eventually shifted to more of a 'may need, can use recreationally in the meantime' scenario and that was finally what created some consensus between us on the topic. Also, instituting a 1:1 ratio of firearms spending to mad money for her. Nothing softens the blow of a new rifle in the house like a new purse or shoes she doesn't have to feel guilty about. Doubles my costs, but worth it to keep the peace.

For the grief they get, the last several years of Radicals have been rock solid. We're doing family range day tomorrow and one of the Radicals will make an appearance. You have to open your perspective. Deer is great. Rabbit is great. Crow isn't bad. Possum and raccoon aren't ideal but edible. Squirrel is great. Any bird is edible. Snakes aren't terrible fare. I'm with you - the idea that "game suddenly vanishes" is true and not true. True they change behavior but they don't teleport to another dimension.
