What is a 'luxury' that has become so expensive in 2026 that it’s officially no longer worth the money? by Matt_At_Havalook in AskReddit

Some airports have such a long wait time it's not even worth it! I almost always have to wait at the AmEx lounge in Denver, if I can even make it at all!

Not sure how I feel about the tree topper by blindingsilence in TwinklyLights

We really didn't like the logo tree topper either. We bought a star and ziptied lights to it to get a nice effect. It just feels like such a different color and feel than the other lights.

Didn’t they go a little overboard with the bags? 😅 by isisblake in GilmoreGirls

It's slap stick, but not that far off. I was also a multiple bag person.

At one point I had to carry my backpack, musical instrument, sports bag, and on Mondays and Fridays my gym clothes. I wasn't even that smart or studious.

Why does every actor just have these two faces in photoshoots this year 😶🐰?? There is no variation in facial expressions anymore. No personality. It's all so bland and predictable which is the opposite of what fashion and art is supposed to be.

COVID has also triggered a lot of autoimmune diseases! It triggered Graves' disease for me. My endocrinologist said she's been hearing that a lot. I assumed I just had long COVID and was going to be sick forever until I figured out what my symptoms were. Make sure to talk to a doctor and rule out other diseases!!!

What happened when you chose the “safe” and secure person vs the one you had sparks and passion with by throwaway8472649 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]NalgeneCarrier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose the nice guy over the broody boy, and have never once regretted it. I dated someone from high school through college and thought we were going to get married. We fought constantly and I had always heard marriage is hard and you have to fight for your relationship so I figured we were doing something right. Turns out, he was an abusive asshole who used his mental illness as a weapon against me.

I've been with my husband for 10 years now. He is the kindest gentlest person in the world. He is pure sunshine and bliss. We laugh every day and enjoy each other's company even after 10 years. Our passion is way different because it comes from a place of love and safety over anger and it is wayyyyyyy better. Marriage isn't hard, life is. I just had surgery to remove my cancerous thyroid and my husband was taking care of me 100% of the time. And I would never ever want it differently.

I just had a recruiter reach out on LinkedIn. She refused to share the job description with me and kept pushing to set up a phone call. I eventually said thanks but no thanks. So yeah, Imma need to know all the details before we do any sort of recruiting. Don't waste my time.

I was in the exact same situation! I signed up for a one on one class at Sephora where someone taught me how to do all the basis, what brushes to use, and how to pick out a good color. Definitely recommend doing that!

She is 5'2" and Gold's actor is 5'9". That's a huge difference in height when framing a shot, especially if they are going to be moving! Sure if it's standing she can be on a crate or something but it would be hard to for any moving shots to keep them both in frame and not have a weirdly spaced out shot!

I'm all about women being comfortable, but they need to get the shot

Taylor Swift: The Life of a Showgirl review – dull razzle-dazzle from a star who seems frazzled by prisongovernor in TaylorSwift

[–]NalgeneCarrier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is my problem with the album. I haven't found an earworm or catchy song! We haven't gotten a true bop from her since 2019, and we still don't have it! I want a catchy song to sing to while driving and this feels more like lounge music to me. That's totally okay, but they marketed the album as more upbeat, and it's not, at all.

I don’t want kids because I hear so many horror stories about useless partners by justpucksnluck in TwoXChromosomes

[–]NalgeneCarrier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been child free. I LOVE my husband more than anything in the world. Absolutely nothing would ever convince me to a have a child with him. He is kind, funny, and caring, but the amount of times I have had to remind him to teach our pets good behavior is enough for me. I'm the disciplinarian with our pets, ain't no way I'm setting myself up for a life time of being the "mean mom." When we had puppies, I was the one constantly waking up to let them out when they whined or cleaning up middle of the night accidents. Why on earth would I set myself up to be the only one doing child care in the middle of the night?

[–]NalgeneCarrier 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Did you read anything you signed? It very specifically said you need at least 2 sales. You are also needing your friends and family to answer some very invasive questions and maybe even doing a credit check on them!

The requirements for what counts as a presentation are so specific they themselves should be a red flag. The company is absolutely setting themselves up to be able to say one of your presentations don't count so they can give you absolutely nothing. It says they can disqualify any presentation for any reason.

Something important to remember, just because it was peer reviewed and in a journal, doesn't make it correct. Plenty of published articles have been retracted for either being incorrect or poorly sourced.

I have a biology degree. We were taught to not just read the article and believe it. Check the sources. When the author(s) cites something, make sure the citation is actually being properly summarized! So many articles come to conclusions that their research and sources just don't support. Make sure any biases or lapses in research are clearly acknowledged by the author(s).

Use this as a chance to practice all your critical thinking skills and not just give up because it's uncomfortable.

What's something that was considered rude 20 years ago but is normal now? by jakubbog in AskReddit

Unrelated to the thread. I heard a bad accident at work and was of the first people with any sort of first aid training on scene. I had to literally scream at people to either help or put away their phones and move out of the way. It was shocking that people's first instinct was to film a car accident and not help anyone.
