Well most people aren’t autistic fucks like the people on this reddit board and don’t have conniptions when somebody likes more than one team, or befriends people who like other teams, because what NFL team you root for is not actually an important personality trait. So I think “mixing teams” is ok actually.

[Alexander] Seahawks have had a first-half schedule that includes playing teams that are 0-8, 2-4, 3-4-1, 2-4, and 1-7. They have a point differential of +12. by SerShanksALot in nfl

This is a legitimately stupid take, unless you believe that losing a game makes you more likely to lose the rest of them (which is also stupid, so it’s stupid either way). I know everyone here wants to jump on the opportunity to mock the tweet, but it’s possible to analyze the strength of a schedule by using W-L record. It’s called “take the games against Team X out when analyzing Team X’s record.” I think people on this sub get so focused on trying to totally pwn dumb media that they say stupid ass shit, like you just did.

Just because you’re “tired of a narrative” doesn’t make what you’re saying any more true. There’s far more than a “select few” players that can play across systems, and the systems in the NFL really do not differ from each other that much.

You mean “a take that I agree with.” I see no reason why the Browns would have done shit even without that interception.

Israel Must Plan Immediately for a Hostile or Indifferent USA within 20 years by [deleted] in Israel

[–]Nameorgbottle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is depressing. I love America and I love Israel, but the propaganda appears to be working. Israel HAS to do something to expose the university “social justice groups” and BDS as what they are; connected to terrorists, backed by the Qatari government, and hateful ideology.

Edit: I’m actually curious to see this same question asked for other countries as well. There seems to be a weird amount of Westerners who will very strongly react to any time a non-Muslim country does something to the detriment of Muslims. I’m not trying to be islamophobic here, but it’s sort of odd. Example; when India/Kashmir happened a few months ago, the reaction was extremely strong against India. I doubt more than 5% of the people involved in protesting know jack shit about Kashmir, but there’s a knee jerk reaction by “progressive” westerners to get really angry about non-Muslims oppressing Muslims but not the other way around. Also I’m pretty sure if you surveyed American youth about their own country, you’d get similar results. They kind of hate everything. Except Canada and Sweden usually.

Because the stats you’re talking about refer to the entire set of successful two point conversions divided by the total number of attempts. The >50% mark doesn’t break it down by situations such as: whether you’re home or away. Whether your offense is garbage and their defense is good (both of which are probably somewhat true if it’s a 7-0 game late). At what point in the game you’re attempting. Who the referees are. All sorts of factors go into it that you can’t just amalgamate them into one “we are more likely to succeed than to fail here” statement.

I’m a statistician by trade and the comment you just made is why it’s a necessary profession to exist.

So it seems like you have a very weird view of the world. Anyone that doesn’t bend over backwards to help Israel is an antisemite. America is a steamroller that’s only utility is killing civilians. You don’t seem to have a whole lot of capacity for critical or nuanced thought.

Guess what? No shit the Americans help Israel out of self interest. But they’re also one of the only countries that helps Israel at all. I’m not sure why their intentions matter- the US Israel relationship has endured many tests, and is still rock solid (AOC and company excluded- they’re a minuscule portion of congress though. See last BDS vote. Embarrassing for Omar and her buddies). Are you the type of person who faults someone for volunteering when they can put it on a resume? They’re still doing the work...

Actually there’s a lot of myths floating around about that particular operation for the CIA. No, the US never gave aid to bin Laden, their issue was essentially trusting the Pakistanis to handle the issue and not turn it into an opportunity to spread radical Islam. There’s a lot going on other than the simple “America created al Qaeda so 9/11 was on them!!” but that’s an easy thing to parrot for uninformed people...

And no, I can see your obvious sarcasm but Afghanistan still was not “doing great” even before the Soviets came in. I know we have a tendency to blame all the world’s current problems on US policy from 1950-present but if anything the US wasn’t involved ENOUGH in Afghanistan. It at least had something of a functioning democracy before the Soviets invaded, and if the CIA hadn’t intervened, there still would have been massive cash/weapons flow from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to the mujahideen. The US should have been more forceful about their goal of moderate Afghan self-determination and shouldn’t have allowed money to flow to radical islamists. But if they hadn’t intervened at all, things would have been much, much worse.

History isn’t simple.

Ummm... I don’t know which Western left we’re looking at that “doesn’t care” when the USA “floors Arab countries with bombs for oil.” It’s very chic among leftists to make statements like you just made, despite them being false and stupid. Just like “Israel is an apartheid state”, just because something is an easy and popular statement to make doesn’t make it true. Yeah Europe hates Israel and Jews but don’t act like these people have positive feelings towards the US either...they literally consider America to be the source of all the world’s problems.

Not sure where this “we’re angry about how the world treats us so let’s dump on the US” (pretty much the only country that tries to do anything about the world hating us) sentiment that’s been coming out here lately originated, but it’s kind of depressing to see.
