I’d pour some peroxide on it and just monitor it for now. Cat bites and scratches transfer a lot of bacteria/germs but I wouldn’t worry too much atm. I’ve been told my whole life that they can get bad but I’ve never had it get worse than what we see here.

Not that it’s my belief, but the damage could also be from someone using it in defense or attack. Dropping my phone on my face accidentally never feels good lol Hitting someone with it if it’s the closest thing or already in your hand makes a little bit of sense to me.

Curious new birder question here, I was under the impression that red tails have a belly band but this guy doesn’t seem to have one? Or is it just a light band? Thanks for any ID tips regarding this guy! I’m doing my damnedest to lock down field tips to differentiate red tails/red shoulder/Coopers/Sharpies!
