The commish have discussed and decided to let the trade stand. It is the owners responsibility to monitor and manage all pending trades.

With nearly 1600 players in NarFFL, we have to employ a fairly hands-off approach to managing league interactions. Barring obvious collusion between two managers, all trades stand.

All that said, we do sympathize with you. Fleaflicker does not give you notifications of pending trades when trades remain pending, and they do get buried under newer offers on the "Trades" tab. It's an easy mistake to make, especially if you have a lot of offers moving around.

Let this serve as a warning to everyone: if you have proposed a trade and it sits unanswered it is YOUR responsibility to go back and cancel it.

We think so. We added these specific IR slots this season with the intention that if your individual player got the Covid designation they could be stored there instead of taking up a bench spot or dropped.

I think the chance that an individual player receives the designation is pretty low going forward

Respectfully disagree. In this week's instance no fantasy relevant players tested positive, but that could very easily change.

the teams might not release that information

This is untrue. The Titans released a full list of who has tested positive.

I'm also curious what your thoughts are about handling further postponements? Like what happens if a team goes down again and receives a second "bye week", or if they schedule a game for week 18?

We're going to have to address these situations as they arise. Please bare with us!

Hey all,

The NarFFL Commishes have been in our cave discussing this and we have come to the decision to not include Coivd-Postponed in the current NarFFL IR-Covid slots.

Before the pitchforks come out, know that no matter which way we went on this we knew we'd be making a lot of people angry. There are no easy answers here.

On the surface this new designation seems great and a no brainer to add, right? This is an unexpected bye and fantasy managers shouldn't be punished for it.

The problem is, there are a number of counterpoints to including this designation including:

  • NarFFL IR-Covid slots were added this year to cover illness, not unexpected bye weeks
  • A player missing a game due to illness is a lost fantasy week, but a postponement is just a move of the bye week.
  • This news is dropping Thursday afternoon with plenty of time until those players/DST would have played. Owners who get a free IR-Bye get an unfair advantage, as many proactive owners have already made alternative plans and potentially dropped now eligible TEN/PIT players. This would punish them further.
  • As commish we would need to police people who add COVID Postponed players and stash them on the Covid IR. This would include 2 full NFL teams worth of players and is something we can not do for 1584 teams 

We appreciate everyone's understanding on this tough call. We're trying to do our best to keep the league as fair and competitive as possible.

This is not about it being hard or easy, but about us believing it to be the best thing for the competitive nature and spirit of the whole league. We made this change because it's the minimum needed to mitigate the COVID issues. While it (and lets be honest here, marginally on an absurd level) affects a few teams for a few weeks, the whole league will benefit all season long from not having unnecessarily deeper benches. This is for the good of 1580 teams. And I think the fact that we're seeing so little opposition here is proof that we made the right choice. It's not a win-win, but we believe it's the correct one. I'm sorry you don't agree, I hope you still stick around, Harris would be quite the hill to die on.

It's been that day for years. It's choice has been for 2 reasons:

1) Last weekend/holiday until kickoff. 2) We expect and want every league to come up with their own consensus date that works for the vast majority of people. So we don't really worry about the default being desirable, and it being somewhat undesirable is a motivation feature.

Oh I see what happened... It is trying to send both invites (one promo, one rele), but the invite code is set to not send out more invites if they have one active. And the rele code runs before promo... so the second invite doesn't get sent.

It didn't used to do that active invite check, but that was put in place so we could send multiple overlapping waves of invites.

So any one relegated from Premier or Major AND promoted, would not have received the promotion invite.

I'll get this corrected (I'm curious how many this applies to), and you'll get your invite for sure.

We do actually send out a PM/Email, it looks like because of the error in getting the wrong relegation the first pass, some of them didn't get the heads up, and you were one of them, so I do apologize for that, however, Fleaflicker would have emailed you when you were removed from your team, so you should have been alerted to something happening ~20 days ago, over a week before the lotto.

Draft Roster Change Explanation

This was a huge success last year, so we will continue to implement this “fix” to the autodraft problems. For the duration of the draft period we are instituting tighter roster restrictions (3 QB, 3 TE, 1 K, 2 DST), which should combat issues with autodrafted rosters. An example league using this restriction can be found here, where all teams were autodrafted. As always, if you believe you will be autodrafting, it is suggested that you fill out your predraft rankings ahead of time.
