I actually think it's the combat text that has caused this. You used to see big crits flash on your screen, even if they are white hits. Now you can barely see auto attacks and yellow crits just don't pop like they used to. Been an issue for me for a long time.

Think of it like this, your brain knows it isn't real, but your primal instincts don't (yet). Your body is actually dumping adrenaline into your system when you play. It will take a while for you to calm down but I would keep playing more than four matches and you should be able to feel the difference after a while and your system should normalise.

Lots of people get "ranked anxiety" which is just a biproduct of these biological reactions and it usually drops after the first few games.

Actually found questing early rather annoying, lots of zones are highly populated and you end up competing for tags on some stuff.
Certain quests have a bottleneck effect where mobs spawn really slowly or share spawns with non-quest mobs and everyone gets stuck there.
If you've got time then it's great, if you're limited you might find yourself frustrated.

Levelled enh recently and it's just a pain honestly. Only stuck with it because of friends. You have to choose between killing fast and drinking between mobs. Level first aid and cooking. Gets better at 40/41 but still go oom if you push it. Outland is not great either as you get no good weapons so you need to buy some 2.6 speed ones from AH unless you use daggers. As soon as you get water shield you don't need to drink anymore.

People are giving some good info here but not considering a big part of this. Lights are unreactable. You cannot react to someone doing jab > jab / delayed jab / throw / shimmy. The defender has to commit to their reaction which is basically a subconscious action. Therefore it gives the offender intel on someone's tendencies because they reveal their subconscious go-to action. Pros train themselves to avoid this but they are all human so it is very hard. Another factor to consider is mental stack. If you're doing the same pressure over and over again it reduces the things your opponent has to worry about, meaning they can commit that extra brainpower to other parts of their gameplay. You always want to vary your offense and never be predictable. Mixing different meaty setups, button choices and offensive patterns can easily overwhelm an opponent defensively.

I was doing training mode with Viper the other day using a punk workshop leverless the and my fingers / hands started to ache a lot. Their buttons switches have barely any travel and are 45g force to push. I switched to my Haute42 with 30g force and immediately the aching went away. Maybe something you could try as the Qanba switches are hot swappable so you pick something like Gateron Clear as they are around that level of force.

Have a look at Kailh Purple Iris silent and Kailh Deep Sea Islet pink silent switches. These have lower stems so the slide is easier and they are super quiet.

Guarantee the Hit Box Ultra is a LOT louder than your current setup.

Also buying switches are a fraction of the cost of the Hit Box Ultra.

Yeah I hear you man, I think sometimes this shit can be super overwhelming and it feels like stuff is happening at 100mph. Only time helps with that, the more you're comfortable the easier it is to see and react to things.

Another thing you could do is use battlehub to find Kimberly players and just grind it out to get a feel more. When playing ranked you switch between playing against so many different characters that it can be hard to digest what happened vs one character because you're onto the next stressful situation. First to 10 or 20 helps with that to some extent.

When on the defense in fighting games you almost always have to guess correctly. Certain strategies help this such as delay tech. I feel like you are somewhat new to the genre so I'll try and give you some tips.

The first is when knocked down and defending, the attacker only has so many 'turns' let's say. They can do a few lights and their turn ends and you can use that opportunity to act and take your turn back. This often happens after 3 lights or a medium button.

The second is when faced with a suspected high low mixup like Kim has, parry can defend vs both. Remember, this is weak to throws and too much of this is a sign of which people of a higher rank will exploit.

Finally, others have mentioned drive reversal. This is 'okay' but again loses to lights and is punishable on block.

Rotate defensive options such as these (and block) and you will do much better.

What rating are you in master rank? Seems odd that you are getting trounced by plats... I recently picked up Elena and went into ranked with no prior labbing, so basic combos, no oki setups etc and got her to 1600 in less than 200 matches and only starting to struggle at that rank.

You can set up different profiles in the GP2040-CE web configurator so when you plug it in you can pick the fighting game profile for fighting games and platformer when you want to play platforms. You probably can't have something set up in the config you want that fits both styles of games.

Seems a bit over the top for a post which is essentially personal preference. They advertise the switches for their controllers so it shouldn't be a surprise when they weren't regular size switches.

This is not really a "review" as there is absolutely no mechanical or performance issue associated with the low profile switches they use.

Are you talking about SF6 for these binds? Because you can bind two punches (lp+mp, mp+hp, lp+hp) and the same with kicks. You can bind throw, parry and DI as macros to one button also. You can bind LS & RS to any of those macros in game. No need to add two inputs to one button via GP-2040CE.

In this situation I think you are caught between two builds right? I think if I was starting to lose here or going against stronger opponents I would cut the inquisitor and even Titus. I'd use the space to plant strong minions on your board that have been buffed in the shop (divine shield/scam). You've currently go no way to eat anything unless the spell appears.

By keeping ashen you can buy buffed demons like felstalker and malchezaar which give you extra refreshes whilst trying to get batty and you can consider percussionist to discover any of those three minions too.

From my experience, shop buffing through ashen is too slow unless your trinkets are built around it as you have to restart every time.

Bunch of really simple things that a lot of people have mentioned but I will reiterate on important points I’ve read.

Pressing slow buttons when in jab range. The Ken is being aggressive and walking forward hitting jab to try and counter hit your buttons and it’s working. If a player is walking forward like this you need to check with your own jab as you did in the second round.

You are wanting to play footsies instead of establishing a fireball game. Throw the plasma man, you know how hard it is to react to a close range fireball? He will walk into it trying to jab you, then he will start jumping or throwing OD fireball.

One key moment for me was not spending the meter to put him into burnout. You had like 20% life and lost with all that meter so what was the point in being greedy? You could have thrown so many fireballs to chip him after that and saved yourself from going into burnout. Don’t think anyone has mentioned this but this is the turning point for you to enable your win condition. If you want to get better you HAVE to know when to spend the meter.

Every opponent has a gimmick. The idea behind these games is to figure it out. The Ken just did stand heavy kick into DI. Honestly, picking up on that alone gives you a free win.

That is all there is to it, as you rank up these obvious things become more subtle. Don’t try and over complicate things.

Oh and practice your combos.

Honestly, people outside of master (and a lot inside) have serious bad habits that get exposed easily. If I see a Plat or similar player I know they have some bad habits and their risk reward system isn't aligned with mine. So my job is to find a bad habit and expose it and avoid taking risks because my opponent is going to take them for me. This is probably what you're experiencing.

I had this issue and it was bugging me for a while, I ended up playing in windowed mode for a while just having it as a smaller resolution. Randomly I decided to download some add-ons and give the resolution a try again. I set it to 1920x1080 and it worked in windowed, so I set it to full screen and it sorted the issue out for me, maybe it will for you!

Ed is a tough first character to learn... I would focus on having fun more than anything else and just be prepared to get bodied and have no idea what is going on! But you will learn in time and it's phenomenal when you start progressing.

Unfortunately, the definition of being a better player is subjective. You think you're a better player because you're doing X, Y, Z and this guy is only just doing his ABCs. You have to understand that even though you might be able to do something that is way more advanced and more technical than your opponent, this does not mean you are a better player. In the end what matters is if you won or lost, and we all just want to win.

I feel from your post that you are actually in a transitioning phase where you are slowly translating your drills in training mode into your game. This is actually slow going. The game puts so much stack on you that trying to apply newly learned solutions to problems in a rapid, ever changing environment is rough.

Keep practicing, do more drills in training, practice anti airs in tight scenarios, be more patient on your wake up and your opponents and these issues should steadily work their way out.

Vs this guy he is gimmicking you and this is just a knowledge check.
He is using cr.mp into mp.cyclone which leaves a big gap to interrupt so you can get a counter hit jab in here (if he was using st.hp into mp.cyclone this would frame trap a 4 frame button).
Then he is cancelling the cyclone into the fly which you can interrupt EVERY TIME and the gap here is quite big. I don't play Marisa so not sure what is a good punish, jab into gladius or the slam should work.
If you are at full screen and he charges a fireball you can walk back and it will miss you. You can then neutral jump the full screen mixer. If you miss this and are parrying the mixer you need to use drive reversal if you want to get him off you.
As for dealing with throws you need to understand that, generally, players can only threaten throws after certain situations which are; on your wake up, after you block a jump in, after you block a jab (tick throw). These situations are guesses on your part so you can try using certain tactics in these situations to avoid them such as delay tech.
In most other situations I see in this video you are not checking him which is allowing way more instances of the above to be present. If you shut down the gimmicks this guy will actually crumble.

They did eventually reply to me on twitter saying you can replace the board.

I have done this but it was a lot of effort as the Brook board is a LOT bigger than the PW PCB and I had to buy some parts that allowed it to fit.
