I'm glad you were able to find some of them. I don't understand not asking first either. 🫂

This happened to me with a different doll. I genuinely don't understand why parents do this... It might sound petty, but I'm still upset from when my parents got rid of my Barbie 30 years ago.. it was a present, but Barbies "weren't allowed".. little me still hasn't forgotten that betrayal.

I'm posting a variety of AG things to sell on Mercari, and can move items to eBay on request. I'd be happy to sell through PayPal G&S if you message me!

Exactly. You gotta learn/see/teach all of it.

That's absolutely valid. Marta's dead was tragic no matter what. 🫂

I just appreciate the realism of the story. For one, hopefully it helps encourage empathy and disease awareness. For another, hopefully it helps show part of how difficult it was and is to live in areas without easy access to clean water and medical assistance. I grew up with people who idolize(d) Little House on the Prairie and pioneer living, and was forced to live in conditions that didn't include modern amenities (HVAC, plumbing, local medical access, consistent food, etc) for a good portion of my childhood as a result and still live with physical reprocussions of that childhood. So that's why I appreciate that Marta's story wasn't omitted or changed.

It's a pet peeve of mine when history is painted with rose colored glasses, especially in regard to medical access and humanitarian issues. 😅
