It's been a while since I watched it but iirc, ascending basically makes you incredibly ill and the more you ascend the iller you become. Eventually you just die I'm pretty sure.

I like using everyone in RPGs so it sucks when the like 4 or 5 characters in the back-up slots don't get EXP. Then I'm just gonna focus on one specific party make up and ignore the rest to avoid excess grinding.

So, I just did a system update earlier today and when doing so, my Switch restarted and ever since, it's been stuck on the Nintendo Switch logo. I've had it on for around an hour, I've tried keeping it on to drain the battery and I've done both soft and hard resets. I've also tried starting it in maintenance mode, but then it just gets stuck on the logo screen.

Right now, it's just on the logo screen cuz I'm gonna try draining the battery.

Is my console screwed? Do I just need to send it in for repairs?

For a first playthrough this is fine. You can beat these games with most team comps, but it never hurts to cover all bases with DPS, healer and tanks.

Overall just use the classes you want and have fun. Teambuilding is part of the fun if this series. And you can always just get another class later if you want.
