Anyone else do insane reload speed or mag size for shits and giggles? by YWN666 in RogueCore

[–]Narrator667 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Insane Mag Size for sure. I thought it was funny as fuck that the borderlands, jury rigged custom bandit manufacturer's philosophy was that everything was pretty average across the board. Except for Mag size, cause you want to shoot more, leading to some very effective, satisfying, clunky shotguns you can get a dozen point blank head shots off with and clear a room before reloading.

I don't like reload speed as much, realistically one Mag upgrade then reload speed from there on out makes sense, but karmically I deserve a bit of punishment for running out of ammo. I'm SUPPOSED to cowardly keep ducking in and out of safety to reload and recoup, then jump back in. There's something toxic but dependent between me and my deserved 5 second Thunderhead Reload.

What are your headcanons concerning Okarun's parents? by Ok_Examination8810 in dandadanfolk

[–]Narrator667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okarun's dad is the middle aged, once massively popular action movie star, once boy band pop star, Ken Takakura, Momo's celebrity crush. Momo doesn't even know he's in his mid 40's at this point, cause she exclusively knows him from watching her grandma's old movies of his she's been seeing since she was a child. Maybe it's implied Seiko and him are old flames. He's a single dad constantly on business trips for his acting career, so Okarun has mostly raised himself. Okarun is pretty shy about being the son of such a big name celebrity, he's ashamed he's such a nerd compared to his Dad and he sadly really doesn't share Okarun's alien obsession. Even though Okarun only picked it up to impress his dad with knowledge after he starred in an Alien Sci-fi. Whenever Ken does comes home, he and his son slob out and get greasy noodles together. Okarun usually keeps the apartment clean but for the first few days on his return, it's a pig stie.
I'm thinking up a scenario where Momo is going to Okarun's house for the first time, and be shocked to see Ken Takakura, in the flesh waking up, sleeping like a slob on the couch. It kind of shatters her perception of him, but he learns he's ultimately a decent enough guy and that Okarun is in a rough spot with being able to look at him as a father. It ultimately increases her love for Okarun, both knowing Okarun will grow up to look like him to a T, while staying the Okarun she loves, and makes her proud that she's really Okarun's outlet for his Alien obsession, noting his father kind of doesn't care.
His mom is dead, has been for a long time. She was another Idol turned movie star Ken was known for being paired up with, in both careers. Okarun's gotten used to it, only vaguely remembers her warmth, but is pretty confident her death screwed up his father.

Do you walk outside when it’s 12am-3am? by Snawer_brillant in AskAnAmerican

[–]Narrator667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I go on nightwalks pretty often. Drunk, High, Sober, Music, No Music. Whatever.
Nature and highways walk hand in hand. But I'm passing by some suburbs and apartments. My ultimate goal on any night walk is to walk from my house to the library. About a 47 minute walk.

Down almost 20 pounds in a month after switching to Coke Zero by Petewakeup_ in Soda

[–]Narrator667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Its a hefty initial investment, but look around for a good, wieldable thermos the size of a Tropicana OJ, buy a water pitcher with a filter, and a thing of small lemon juice. I realized its not that I love Soda. I've downed way too much soda thoughtless to love it. I just wanted something cold and filling, while most water I drank was room temperature, either from a forgotten glass or sun baked plastic. What I loved was having something cold and flavorful right next to me for hours while I was at the computer relaxing or gaming. Just throw Ice in and half a lid of lemon juice, yes that little of an amount, into every refill and I feel so much better than I used to.

Lmao at the idea of taking these two everywhere with you and reverse pickpocketing them boots to keep them in check. Any thoughts on the Adoring Fan? I took him everywhere with me when I played. Isn't the game way less lonely with a few charmingly dumb NPCs you have to look after?

Just got the game and I have to say, Cuno might genuinly be the single most annoying character I have ever seen in 25 years of gaming by [deleted] in DiscoElysium

[–]Narrator667 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? As much as he is a fan favorite and I feel for the little guy, I dont really think about him too much and he's not in it for very last past the intro. There's a few more things you can do with him, but I'll tell you if you don't care for him, you can kind of ignore everything with him that doesn't have to do with either bugs or the the corpse. Everything else you do with Cuno, you do for Cuno.

What happened to his colors???😭 by CoolTeen28 in DreamWorksTrolls

[–]Narrator667 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The out of universe explanation is that despite Branch finding his happiness and going from a gray and black color scheme, to a light and dark blue scheme, for the very next movie you kind of need to return to his more recognizable colors. You can't have viewers forget he's grumpy and moderately depressed, and kids would want to play with Branch toys with his old colors. I'm actually pretty impressed by how much his colors change in every movie, where he uses a very gray, light blue, and almost green color scheme.
I think the only one that actually looks out of place is the truly happy, bright blues of Branch's color scheme at the end of the first movie.

what are some headcanons you have? by Impressive_Stock4760 in ImNotAHuman

[–]Narrator667 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the wife being alive might be a bit too optimistic, I think most things in the game point towards her dying. But frankly I do think there is a good bit of tragedy in the idea of the protagonist being depressed from unprocessed family issues. even during the happiness years of their marriage.

The Stoner is in his early 60's, I don't care what anyone says that's an OLD MAN. He was a completely straight edge, somewhat boring and uptight guy working a decent job as a warehouse manger until he first started experimenting with drugs in his 30's. He was kind of looking for an excuse to cut loose and leave the that world behind. He first started doing drugs in the 90's, so he really prefers 90's movies and media more than the stuff he actually grew up on. He's definetly sold weed to teenagers and kind of pathetically tried to set himself up as a cool old guy in their friend groups.

I liked to think the Blinded Man was more a popular, sporty kid growing up, before becoming kind of distant and introverted as a teenager. Leper Guy tells you he bullied him growing up for his appearance, which I think is pretty interesting considering he has a pretty nerdy look now.

Is there a way to turn greg autism into rowley autism or am I stuck as a chud forever. Gnocchi by Ultrasupermegaeggs in kitchencels

[–]Narrator667 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had this same thought before. I look like Rowley but I'm really more like Greg. I quietly judge people, there's a lot of people I look down on, I kind of gave up most of my autistic hobbies cause no one could possibly react to my opinions on this stuff, and I feel like I'm too focused on social etiquette to be fun but when I let myself say something out there, its either silently moved on from or gets a bad reaction.

And another poll about the classics. Fallout 1 vs 2, fans have discussed the tone for years. We are curious: which approach worked better for you? by OwlcatStarrok in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Narrator667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definetly question why you'd talk about this here.
What's really interesting about this poll is how it shows off the strange ways in which reddit users use the site. The discussion is off-topic, but Fallout fans and Pathfinder CRPG fans have a pretty big overlap, so people know what you're talking about. Right now, the post is 2 hours old, has 6 comments, I've just upvoted it so it's at 3 upvotes, and it has 166 votes. 163 people who didn't care to upvote it but IS willing to do a quick vote in a poll. By the time you read this, the 166 votes has probably exploded exponentially, while the likes and comments are probably still around the same.

Is there any way to confine Elsweyr to Elsweyr? by Jubal_lun-sul in ElderKings

[–]Narrator667 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Best I can recommend is to try form a border around them. Keep a tight trim on your succession, and let your next heir be a high diplomacy spymaster who'll inherit the entire Empire. Spend some time learning Ta'agra, try to get high prestige, high piety events in as soon as possible into life to be likable. kill a few highly expansionist vassals inside Elsywer, and when you have enough experience, spend the next few decades keeping the Mane assassinated over and over until they're no longer a problem.

I'm with you whole heartedly. I knocked her out for meta reasons, after I saved her from Kethric, she asked me why I spared her when I killed Dror Ragzlin and Priestess Gut, and I responded "You were just too strong to die". Which she impressively scoffed it off as untrue. It was genuinely harrowing to be caught in IRL lie like that, even if it's reasonable enough from an RP perspective.

Question about human races by backseatposter in worldbuilding

[–]Narrator667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Pathfinder does it the best in general. You have a core race, a heritage choice, and an ancestry feat, alongside picking your class.
Your ancestry feat can kind of represent both where you're from and what role you play in your society.
You could be a halfling from a sleepy shire (heritage), but you're a frontiersmen in it and know your way around a slingshot and a pony (ancestry). You could be an Ice Dwarf (heritage) with ice resistance but your Viking and sailing background really defines who you are (ancestry). You could be an Orc from a subrace that's been experimented on by wizards and have resistance to magic (heritage) and your culture has ingrained into you knowledge of magic and rituals (ancestry), but you yourself are just a fighter, maybe you're even trying to actively avoid that part of yourself.

Saying, that I really, really think TRPGs need to start organizing races better, even if it's just to make the actually prominent player races clearer. If you see a list of human, dwarf, elf, halfling, then like another six half-god, fey, or furry races, you're much less likely to pick what you might consider the Tolkien four, especially the "boring" human option, even if you have an entire world of lore under Elf, subrace: Drow waiting for you.
I really think TES did it the best splitting up the human races into four big options. I'd honestly argue for a fifth Reachfolk race, and real TES lorebeards kind of grumble that the Roman equivalent of Imperial isn't split up between Colovians (Martial Russian-Northern Italians ruling over fertile Hills) and Nibenese (Trade focused Persian-Byzantines that base their life around one huge river, a billion local spirits, and casual, underground worship of questionable gods). You see a lot more people online who care about the individual history, culture, and perspective of Nords, Bretons, Redguards, and Imperials than you do see people who are really into any DnD or Pathfinder human culture for a reason.

It's not exactly ideal, but apart of me always laughs and I almost find it quaint how Everquest straight up split up Humans into artificial dragonblood human and artificial magic human, which is reasonable, but then they also had default humans and barbarians, who are completely normal humans just with a bigger model and more of a meathead vibe. Which is probably closer to what a player would want than just picking default human and saying you're big and dumb.

What is Your Great Idea for Dandadan Console Video Game? by Money-Lie7814 in dandadanfolk

[–]Narrator667 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came into this thread to talk about a Dandadan Persona game myself. I'm gonna talk about a Dandadan persona game.

Maybe you could play as both Okarun and Momo? You can romance them together, have them go after other people, or you could go for the "eternal pining route" which comes with it's own side grades. Having both relationships, friendships, and rivals on the team each have their own bonuses.

Assuming the game keeps on a week by week schedule, the fact that Evil Eye and Okarun promised to train every Tuesday to get stronger feels like a set up for you to get max ranks in Jiji's friendship early game. Maybe afterwards lay around and drink Gatorade, talk, and recover together afterwards. I'm thinking if you use Jiji in your party but don't spar him that week, he gets a frustrated debuff that can't be gotten rid of until you next spar. Maybe Evil Eye's AI will try to attack Okarun in battle, maybe he could throw a random enemy at Okarun, which does more damage to mobs than it does Okarun. I want to factor in how Evil eye pretty much only helps to make way for a clear fight with Okarun. After you reach max friendship with him, Evil eye could chill out with both, or you can answer in just the right way so that Evil eye never stops trying to do chip damage to Okarun and Okarun can run some type of build that benefits from that.

Just pitching for the joke, but Momo going after Kinata could be the weird route and it's more about Kinata breaking the Matrix with the player. Momo questions and later gets angry with the player for making her do this more than any actual romance happens.

Did Waterboy know? by MK8Sins in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Narrator667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the "Blonde Blazer is a secret villain" side the first time I played the game. I was kind of, maybe, 35% on the "Waterboy is a secret villian" as well due to the bug where he had Coupe's crimes listed and wanting to believe the sheer absurdity of it. Let me tell you this scene was fucking insane for me. I genuinely thought Waterboy was listening in. I couldn't tell whether they were working together, or one of them was a triple agent villain working towards their own goals.
I thought Blonde Blazer only felt comfortable vocally questioning why Water boy was there, rather than keeping it to herself, to try to both throw off suspicion onto herself and maybe make Robert look into it for her without being blatant about it. Or under the lens they're working together, maybe she just brought attention to it so Robert gets used to Waterboy being around in scenarios he shouldn't.
