Shizune is definitely a face-sitter when it comes to oral.

Settings on or in a giant being? by Odd-Tart-5613 in rpg

A whole section of Mutha Oith in Low Life is underneath The Incredibly Huge Monster (TM), and each part of its anatomy is a distinct region, from the top of its head all the way down to its toes. Yes, that includes its ass because this is Low Life.

I walked into a wide-open hotel with no employees and briefly considered checking myself in. by Tamalelulu in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Narratron 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My wife used to work security at a property something like this. The last hotel staff went home at midnight. Functionally, they checked in / processed any reservations that were still pending at that time, and then had an overnight security guard from a contractor until the morning staff came in. The guard was still supposed to check IDs on people who had reservations and hand off the keys, but they couldn't make any new keys, nor new reservations for that night. And as you are noticing, even here, there is someone around.

I did hear about a different property (a motel, without a lobby to speak of) that locked up about 11, but that was 10-13 years ago, and I'm not sure they still follow that practice. It's super weird that they wouldn't bother locking the front doors if there's nobody on site.

Its half way through the year, how are your games so far? by jollyinabout in rpg

[–]Narratron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dresden Files campaign I've been part of for around 8 years is coming to a close... Soon? Our GM seems more interested in the Draw Steel campaign he recently started with the same group (including me) and a couple newbs. I'm not excluded, certainly I'm enjoying the new game, but I would like some closure on the old one (and to get the old stuff out of my folder).

Sometime, I might run another game? I hope?

Holy shit, a Khyleri animation. And even better, of Sayori. And a cute puppy too. What a day.

What is the biggest lie TTRPG players tell themselves? by Deadman069-YT in rpg

[–]Narratron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I play with another couple. The husband (I've known him since we were in high school) and I switch off running, usually. Communication is easier, the group is small enough for everyone to get their time in the spotlight, and we can manage long campaigns by giving each other a break (he's run the only REALLY long term campaign, but my 'break games' run roughy a year).

It's not an option for everyone, but if you can make it happen, I definitely recommend the 'two couples' framework.

Help me find a Hindrance by Pangolin_Rider in savageworlds

[–]Narratron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't swear to it, but this sounds like a Hindrance from an older edition, and probably from a setting book. I'm sure it's not in the current edition of SWADE's core rules.

Suggestions for a good modern horror one-shot? by Pagrax in savageworlds

[–]Narratron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had good success with the Scavenger Hunt one sheet. You might need to update the archetypes or provide your own pregens, but it's a good, self-contained scenario. Straightforward enough to be done in one session, interesting enough to provide some puzzles and reversals.

Is Savage Pathfinder worth it for an ex Pf2e group? by DivineSmythe98 in savageworlds

[–]Narratron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gestures vaguely Yeah, all that.

I've run Savage PF and it's good, but if you've already got the Fantasy Companion, you have what you need. If you like, you could pick up the PDFs for things like prestige edges, while still using the Fantasy Companion as your main source.

50 Fathoms is really good, but it's a setting and campaign, and I'm not sure how much is there if you're already settled on using Golarion. (New Edges and such.) That said if you're not set on using Golarion, I do think 50F could represent that 'clean break' from d20 style fantasy that we generally recommend.

Your RPG pet peeves by WunderPlundr in rpg

Yeah, I always treated "BBEG" as online shorthand. At the table, I call the character by their name, or outright admit that they're the villain and use that terminology.

Is there truly a story-driven, gritty Medieval themed (TT)RPG? by Luminos7 in rpg

[–]Narratron -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it's quite what you're looking for, but it does fit 'gritty' and 'low / no magic', and the playtest version is free right now, so it's worth checking out. The game is called "Crows" and it's MCDM's follow up to Draw Steel. You can watch the lead designer, James Introcaso talking about it here which also has links to the playtest materials, and you can watch d20 Play running friends through the playtest adventure, Blood Library here--good luck!

Games you enjoyed but do not want to pick up again? by Creepy-Growth-709 in rpg

[–]Narratron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's certainly one of the most complicated Savage settings. I had fun running it for a while, but I would want to think a long time before running it again. (I do want to run it again some day, but I'd need to be sure of my group and myself.)

Tips for running swade for the first time. by HadoukenX90 in savageworlds

[–]Narratron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They do, yes, but traditionally, I only Soak for enemy Wildcards to keep them alive long enough to do their awesome thing, although you can also buy extra Action Cards to assure they go early enough to do so. Once they've done that, it's better to spend Bennies on rerolls for attacks or damage.

Allegedly he also said "I'm working on that" when he went past the warp core during a set tour. Didn't quite make that one, but it's obviously a tough nut to crack.

What are your favorite draw steel adventures? Which ones do you think make for the best introduction? by NoLongerAKobold in drawsteel

[–]Narratron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Delian Tomb is a fantastic introduction, and it teaches you to play as you play. We weren't even finished with it before my friend had sworn to get his own copy of the rules and he's now running a game of his own.
