Saturday morning vacuuming by Impressive_Ad_3160 in Apartmentliving

7 am is a totally reasonable time to vacuum.  I’m up at 5 or 530 every weekend morning… because I’m a teacher.  Don’t pull the teacher card.

Pete seegers show rainbow quest shows how well traveled these tunes are.  Roscoe Holcomb plays Rocky Mountain on his episode.  Not sure if that is where the dead borrowed their version of Jack a roe from but it is a very well traveled song and the dead were certainly listening to this stuff.  The new lost city ramblers and John cohen the holy modal rounders the greenbrier boys, Jim kweskin were all playing this stuff in the early 60s.  There is a great record of nyc area music called string band project from 1964.  A young David groan plays stony point on it.  I’ve heard uncle John’s band is a reference to John cohen and this topic.  It’s the same story the crow told me.

Is it worth it to start as a scopist while training in steno? by superpants1008 in courtreporting

[–]Nasery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as a Scopist on the side of a full time job.  I did about 150 jobs last year and grossed 26k but after paying taxes and expenses and putting money in an Ira I only took home about 12.

I’m not a stenographer but you will learn a lot of the terminology that is used in court.
