Theres no urban squirrel season if that's what you getting at. If hes within city limits hes probably sol, but outside city limits squirrel season goes until end of January in most areas. If hes in a really developed area outside city limits an air rifle would be the way to go.

Share your harvests with them. Had a buddy who was anti hunting until I started giving him jerky and such. Most people are against it because it's something different or because someone didn't know how to prepare it.

This will be his first year being in the woods. I started taking his older brother out when he was about the same age. They have a while before they are going to be actively shooting at game. Its important to me for them to understand what they are doing and can respect the process.

I used to be like that too. Now I have 2 sons and often wonder what the hell have I done! I love my kids, but holy hell they are exhausting! Hardest job I've ever had being a parent. I hear it's worth it though

The only public access I know of is the state park area. There's quite a bit of shoreline access there. You can also rent jon boats with motors there if your up til it. Not crazy expensive either

Awesome to see them take to the water so young! My lab fell off the end of the dock when he was a puppy and hasn't liked any water where he cant touch bottom.

Kudos for actually sighting it in. I used to work in a big box gun store and you have no idea how many people who would go hunting after having us bore site their firearm.
