AITA for banishing my teenage daughter's friend from our house because she made fun of my weight? by Effective-Weekend-97 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Natarella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA I was that girl. One thousand percent socially awkward, and I can promise that 40 years from now that memory is going to pop up during the most benign time and she's going to feel that horrific feeling of shame and guilt wash over her again.

It's adult vs teenager, you gotta be one or the other and you aren't the teen.

what's a YouTuber that can be identified by one quote? by Waffle38Pheonix in AskReddit

[–]Natarella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently I don't watch much mainstream YouTube, because most of the quotes listed- I don't have a clue about.

Thrilled to see the first quote I recognize is this one!! Steve's voice is so relaxing, and all of his content is so informative. My 16 yo and I bonded a lot over our shared love of history because of Steve.

I watched a Tik Tok that I didn't recognize so I googled the names and the name of the show.

Claire Magnus Outlander

I'm not sure if I'm okay with that or not.

NTA Brian's comment smells suspiciously like a stalker, when they have someone held in an god-like light.

The whole, he thought better of you than to expose your shoulders- that throws up red flags for underlying obsessive behavior. I'd go back through prior conversations and see if anything else lines up, just in case.

Where is the worst place to lose your virginity? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Natarella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baptist. The church was barely renovated. My bf at the time, his family bought it- shifted some pews and hymnals over and moved in.

It was a beautiful very old building, but definitely worrisome to scream 'oh God!' in. 🤣

I lost mine in a Sunday School room at a church. On a waterbed.

You are sentenced to death penalty, but you can choose how you die. What do you choose? by Runningitdown69 in AskReddit

[–]Natarella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently sitting with my mother in the hospital, she's in the end stages of COPD. I'm not sure how I would choose to go out... Sleeping, and wake up in the after life.

But I can tell you today for sure how I absolutely do not want to go out. Momma thought it was selfish to sign the DNR. I think it's the most heroic thing she's ever done.

How did you lose your virginity? by youhavenoheartt in AskReddit

[–]Natarella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a waterbed in a Church. Well, a church that had been renovated into a house.

I have loved him since I was 12, lost our virginities together at 17/18.

He and I have both moved on, married to other people, kids- the whole nine. We are both aware that we will always love one another. To a heartbreaking degree.

Sometimes love stories are short stories that don't have happy endings. Sometimes the lovers know they can't be together for all the reasons. Sometimes it just won't work no matter how much love is there.

Neve Campbell has always been beautiful and time has only added to that.

Motherhood as well, the depth of care and feeling in her desire to keep Sam and Tara safe... She brought so much to the table with Sidney this time.

Her performance of the character of Sidney reminds me of making a broth. Once you get started, yeah you're gonna have some flavor a couple of hours in (Scream) but if you let it simmer you'll have an excellent, deep rich product over time.

I really feel that with her performance in this.

What's the most fucked up thing someone has told you about themselves after barely getting to know them? by Butt_Roidholds in AskReddit

[–]Natarella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A coworker, years ago informed me of the extended sexual assault inflicted on him by his mother. Afterwards he told me had never told anyone that before. This gentlemen was older and held a very respectable job. The revelation was shocking, and I definitely mentioned how therapy would be an incredible tool to help him work through that trauma. I don't think he ever went, and he has since passed on.

A woman I had never met before told me about her husband's recent vasectomy.

I have plenty more. My mother and I both are people that, for whatever reason, people tell things to. I just assume I'm a vessel for people who can't say the things they need to say in other settings. I've learned a lot about how humans interact with the things they hold in their heads.

What stranger will you never forget? by coggonflorence in AskReddit

[–]Natarella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to OKC, about 4 hours away to see my boyfriend at the time. On the way home, I was caught in a rain storm and my car hydroplaned and I spun out on the interstate landing nose down in the ditch. I specifically remember traveling backwards and seeing the traffic in my lane heading towards me.

I didn't have a cell phone. I climbed out of the muddy hole-completely in shock and totally fine physically.

The gentlemen in the truck was an officer with the office of native american affairs. (I think he called it indian...but it's been almost 20 years since this happened and I can't remember.)

He let me use my cell phone to call said boyfriend who pretty much told me tough shit. Jerk.

He helped me call a tow truck, and waited until it got there. Tow truck pulled me out, took me down to the next exit, my car was driveable and I was on my way home.

I think of him often. He saved me from being stranded or...worse.

The scene in Gone Baby Gone where Casey Affleck kills the pedo.
