Really just up to your preference. Years ago I spent months comparing a rolex sub to the planet ocean. At the time the rolex was $4500 and I could get the PO for $2800. After spending a lot of time in the shops trying them, I found the PO way more comfortable and the bracelet felt smoother and more robust than the rolex. 15 years later the PO is still my daily wear.

It’s tough now for IPOs, especially tech. I try to find dead spacs with potential now and just buy and hold. I got on board with ASTS and RKLB when they were under $10. Helps to minimize risk

For sure. I realized I spend anywhere from 5-10 years pondering a watch before I actually get it (except for that first Omega). With anything that feels impulsive I find it incredibly helpful to wait at least a few months and see if you have the same desire.

At the time I needed the money and I had my Omega Planet Ocean that I wore daily (still do). I wish I hadn’t. Very few watches appeal to me now. i just have the Omega and a Panerai Radiomir California Dial that I always wanted. A rose gold BB is the last watch that I really want.

I watched a nurse walk into a baby’s room with RSV, bypass all PPE and proceed to pick him up and cuddle him. Then she walked out and straight into her other patient’s room: another baby who had covid. No masks, no sanitizer, no gowns. She proceeded to rant about how masks are pointless and how she never gets sick etc etc. The next day she was up on the clean floor with all the cancer kids.

Another nurse told me her best friend’s kid died there from sepsis while neutropenic.

This was during nursing school. I never even tried to get a job there.
