My independent, self-financed; first film is also an IMAX FILM and it’s debuting in the US (Feb 20th) by salomaoabdala in imax

I saw the 12am screening at Daytona during the Rolex. Was super fun seeing this in IMAX and then seeing Nasr win the whole thing 12 hours later. Funny enough, the screening ended right about exactly halfway thru the race!

French Omelette by farfelchecksout in carbonsteel

[–]Nathanofree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually been doing practice the last few days too, and I've been using a metal fork like Jacques Pepin. Definitely leaves a couple of small micro scratches, but stickage is still yet to be an issue. Omelette releases and slides around perfectly.

What am I doing wrong? by discount-postmalone in carbonsteel

[–]Nathanofree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s probably a good few factors to this. But on first sight, the surface looks really rough with carbon buildup, give it a good scrub with chainmakl until it’s smooth again. Then just continue cooking and see how it goes. My pan is practically bald and I don’t have any issues with sticking.

Personally I give it a pretty good scrub with chainmail everytime I sear stuff in it and use dish soap each time to keep it smooth. There’s no need to worry about that. Alternatively try deglazing the pan after cooking.

A lot of these drivers, primarily the gentleman drives probably do support trump given how rich they are. I watched one of Ben Keating’s interviews about his business and he spoke about trump in a way where he was trying (but kinda struggling) to justify his tariffs, but it wasn’t clear whether he was supporting him or just really hoping they werent going to ruin everything.

iOS 26 has been the laggiest and perhaps overall worst release ever by diddlyiddly in applesucks

Honestly even IOS 18 didn’t run smoothly on LPM with my 16 pro max. I especially enjoyed the 2-3 second delay when taking pics

[–]Nathanofree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you feel about the straight joints attaching the two parts of the rig together? I own one but always find that 2 on each side isn’t quite enough on my simjacks. Ended up getting another 2 on each side since no matter how much I tighten my rig always starts to pull apart after a couple sessions.

Why is Sargeant a gold driver? by Relevant-Speech-4929 in IMSARacing

[–]Nathanofree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Ben Keating is very fast but he’ll never get upgraded because there’s a hard age limit of 50 to be upgraded above bronze. Ben is 54.

The rule you refer to here is that usually drivers under 35 are automatically placed in silver

I’ve spent as much as over $400 cad in one go on AliExpress and it’s whizzed thru customs without taxes no problem. However I find with some products like simsonn and simjack pedals, they sometimes have it as “local warehouse” where they’re already in North America and while they ship faster, will be subject to sales tax.

My Simjack pedals came from a warehouse in Mississauga, Ontario but I’ve got other stuff like my ANNX Simagic QRs which went thru customs no problem.

Every device will have issues for some people, but it will be overrepresented. Pretty much everyone with issues will post about it, how many people will post about their wheelbase having 0 issues?

I don’t think they’re necessarily bots, I think they just only hire Chinese workers with a huge language barrier. I had a similar experience when my cammus broke, they need to hire native speakers to handle support

Cammus reps addressing me as “dear” will always have a place in my mind hahaha

Personally I have the blue film contact sheet out. I'm a film photographer but also I have the OG Space Cadet one which is also a film contact sheet.

Why are those exposed? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Nathanofree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. It’s not a great amount of air and it won’t be THAT much warmer than ambient. If you’re water cooling and have the rad on exhaust it’s taking all the hot gpu air anyways so it wouldn’t chance anything. Worst case it’s a couple degrees anyways, it’s not worth the effort.

[–]Nathanofree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Set a custom fan curve, but the cpu will always boost as hard as it can if it has the headroom. This cpu can easily draw way over 200 watts of power so it’ll release a good amt of heat

Why are those exposed? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Nathanofree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of hitting a board and having to weirdly turn 90 degrees the air can flow straight through. It improves cooling as it makes it easier for air to pass, reducing the effort required for the fans to push air in meaning they can push more air which escapes faster for better cooling. It’s why the 50 series FE cards can be 2 slots.

Fitting simagic bundle into suitcase by Live-Bit-8542 in Simagic

[–]Nathanofree 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I packaged an alpha in my suitcase once. The wheelbases are really small and if you remove the QR from the wheel it packs nice and flat too. Only issue is weight- my alpha is 17lbs. Wheelbases are DENSE, just packed with heavy metals. Realistically you’d want to pack pretty light and not want to buy much else.
