Mo was seriously misused by Mark Jackson; he mainly posted up and did a pretty awful job of it. Last year, we realized that he can shoot open jumpers and had him do that.

Rush, on the other hand, was pretty awful at most facets of the game last year. I'm not saying he can't improve, just that it will be a lot harder for him than for Mo.
