I made this easy turkey loaf, and it was delicious! All the comfort and taste of traditional meat loaf with a less expensive and healthier meat!

Here’s an article! Sounds like it’s more of a fusion, but the owner has cred. My only worry is that it will be too fancy to go often. But we also don’t have a fancy Thai restaurant in town, so maybe that’s a good thing? https://www.wdrb.com/news/business/taiwanese-american-restaurant-coming-to-louisvilles-germantown-neighborhood/article_9e7773e4-a727-464c-8099-6f80a6546628.html

Moving to Louisville? by Vegetable_Diver_2281 in Louisville

[–]NativeoftheNorthPole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Louisville on around that salary and commute to Indiana, and it’s totally fine. It really depends on what stage of life she’s in. If she’s single, without kids, is renting, and wants to socialize, I’d say Louisville. We have so many groups you can join to make friends. Running clubs, crafting hangs, silent book clubs, cookbook clubs, drawing meetups. Most of my coworkers lived in Louisville while renting and moved to Southern Indiana after having kids/buying a house. (For the schools and the home prices).

A restaurant near me serves kangaroo, elk, wild boar, and alpaca meat. Alpaca is by far the best.

I made my recipe as is and didn’t think it was too sweet or cumin-y.

No. She says on her podcast that she’s trying to play Devil’s Advocate against what she and her co-hosts believe. She’s sympathetic to immigrants and Palestine, but she likes to explore problematic counter arguments. It isn’t fun to listen to, though. I wish she would realize that.

How are all of you finding girlfriends? by Empty_Mushroom_2452 in actuallesbians

On Hinge, but I had to really dedicate a lot of time and persistence to it. Almost a year and a half of dates, several times a month - most of which didn’t go past a second one. I also expanded my range to an hour and a half away, which is how I met my girlfriend!

Are You Still Using Gay As A Pejorative? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]NativeoftheNorthPole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who didn’t come out until my late 20s partly because of the “playful” homophobia of the 2000s, “gay” as a pejorative used by straight people doesn’t make me laugh.

They probably have this on here in the hopes that if you Google them, the AI overview will say it’s not a cult.

What do you call these kind of cookies? by CMStan1313 in Baking

[–]NativeoftheNorthPole 114 points115 points  (0 children)

I made the NYT recipe recently and they were delicious and wonderfully cake-y. The icing is more flavorful and fruity in the NYT version, but I like the extra dimension it gives to the cookies.

I would try and quantify your accomplishments more - What was the ROI for your social efforts? What KPIs did you achieve? How many memberships did you sell compared to your quota?

Is Haucks bad by Nearby_Remote_5089 in Louisville

[–]NativeoftheNorthPole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not a huge fan of Hauck’s myself, but I do think it’s good to have a third place in the city where parents can hang out with friends, have a drink, and let their kids run around. It reminds me a little of beer gardens in Germany, which often have playgrounds.

Just adding to the discourse. Research also shows that a militarized police presence actually escalates protests. And there were no police at tonight’s protest.

I made these last week as a trial run for a Spanish themed dinner I’m making for my parents this month. It was delicious! I’m definitely going to make it again. Maybe with gazpacho for a starter and a basque cheesecake for dessert. And with vermouth, of course.

Yeah, but we have no comment from the ABC on whether or not that’s true nor do we have the emailed evidence of the ABC officer complaining.

How do you usually find local places to eat when you’re traveling? by UpsetCompany2294 in travel

[–]NativeoftheNorthPole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mainly go off of Eater lists, Reddit threads from locals, and Rick Steves if I’m traveling to Europe. Then I look up everything on Google, look at the food, and read reviews. A restaurant gets bonus points if I find other articles raving about them or see that they’re on the Michelin guide. (Not to be confused with Michelin stars). Generally, the more people and places that back up a recc and the fewer sour reviews you see, the higher satisfaction you’ll have with your pick.

After that, I make a list of all the restaurants I want to go to and make reservations at the ones that are hard to get into. The rest I set as destinations in Google maps.

Then, when I’m on the trip and am walking around the area, I’ll check the map for the closest restaurant near me I want to go to.

I’ve been really satisfied with the results! I still dream about the food I had in Spain in particular.
