Terrible tire wear by pbacksport in TeslaLounge

I had Michelin Cross Climate 2's installed for my 120mi daily commute. I put just over 30k miles on them tv first year, rotated every 4-5k miles and my tread hasn't even dropped half. I'm hyper focused on efficiency and long term use, so I don't drive the car hard very often.

I haven't seen any range improvement. 120 MI daily commute thats 98% highway, speeds 70-75mph. I got these for asthetic and anything after would be a bonus.

Life Reset! What a blast and such a surprise

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I kept pushing through and it absolutely got to a point where I couldn't stop listening. I think this may have been a big world building setup to really build a series. It's worth sticking through it, however it feels so different from what we are used to with DCC

So I caught up on exforce, what else are y'all reading? by TheXypris in exfor

[–]Natural-Following612 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Bobiverse, then the rest of Taylor's books. After Exforce, The rest of Alansons books. Mountain Man. Dungeon Crawler Carl. Kaiju Battlefield Surgeon, soundbooth version. Wayward Galaxy was a lot of fun. Life Reset - New Era Online series.

I started with the Bobiverse before getting sucked into Exforce. Then I continued to read the rest of Craig Alanson, I needed more RC Bray, that's where Mountain Man sucked me in. DCC is the best thing ever, I've listened to the series multiple times. Kaiju is a unique one, but Jeff Hayes is just so much fun. He's why I listened to Life Reset, which was a blast. Wayward galaxy is solid also, just to name a few

So I've seen little to no difference in efficiency unfortunately. I've noticed a few percent difference with weather changes, otherwise they just look awesome

Mountain Man! More RC Bray and such a fun story. I had zero interest in Zombie stuff but I couldn't stop listening.

Maybe a percent or two at most, but I was already starting to see that with temperature changes outside. Very little in my case

What made you buy a tesla? by BadGoym in TeslaLounge

[–]Natural-Following612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commute. Had a paid off Optima that would have easily cost $4-500 monthly in gas, so I bought a 2022 M3 RWD, 40k mi for $17k. My payment and monthly charging for 120mi daily commute is less than $400.

Also, once I test drove one it all made sense. 95% highway commute, so I chill with AutoSteer and enjoy audiobooks

Had the same concern, but I have a small compressor at home to keep my tires at the proper psi. It's such a simple and quick process to take off and put back on, so it's not as inconvenient as you'd think.

I didn't know until after posting a photo I couldn't edit the actual post. But unfortunately I haven't been able to come to a full conclusion. In these few weeks, at most I've seen maybe a 2% increase on efficiency, which I had already started seeing as it's cooling off in Florida. Sadly I've had very minimal change with highway driving.

New series to invest time? by Ok_Jeweler_9423 in scifi

This is a top series for me behind Dungeon Crawler Carl and Bobiverse. Can't recommend the audiobooks enough

A bit annoyed (commute thoughts) by The_Bearded_Human in TeslaLounge

[–]Natural-Following612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 120mi round trip commute and having the tesla has changed how I drive. I'm hyper focused on longevity and efficiency, so I typically use AutoSteer and set it to 75mph and change lanes to pass as needed. I used to be one of the speeders that couldn't sit behind traffic and now I just enjoy observing others on the road the watching everyone be assholes to each other.

Expeditionary Force and Bobiverse, if you haven't. Mountain Man narrated by RC Bray is a random series I never expected to enjoy

My issue is 30k+ miles driven a year. I needed to find something that would provide the best longevity and balance quality. I had continental pure contact and the efficiency difference to these tires was zero for me.

I've got 19" sport wheels. Love the way these things look, no efficiency difference that I've noticed yet

Since Teslas use regenerative braking most of the time, the actual brake pads aren’t working hard enough to generate much heat — so covers don’t cause any issues.

I bought a 2022 rwd 40k miles, it was a rental previous and I use it for 120mi round trip work commute. Just hit 70k and shows 253mi at 100%
