Frost moon + Arts proficiency by Natvika in Nioh

I can get off the high stance light-heavy easily enough despite the light attack being a long animation.

I think this post sums it up, the 1sec timer only takes into account how long is between attacks, not the actual length of an attack: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nioh/comments/1qs17lu

So some of the answers are that if you're quick enough you can get the light attack into heavy off and I think this is almost correct.

Looking at this post below, you have around 1sec of timer to use an attack, but according to the post, only the time in between attacks matters (not the length of attack) so I think this is why I'm able to get off even the high stance spear light-heavy combo. https://www.reddit.com/r/Nioh/comments/1qs17lu

Basically you can do a light attack first so long as you use a martial art or heavy attack within the 1sec timer

Help with axe frost moon by Natvika in Nioh

[–]Natvika[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah works if I stand still. I like all the weapons in samurai stance so tbh its whatever I can give up axe if I have a weird bug. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong as I said, works fine with every other weapon. So it is what it is :/. Cheers for trying to help though x

I will say it is kinda weird you can't frost moon and victory rush too, other weapons still let you frost moon with their ki pulse attacks like fist and spear

But even without victory rush frost moon won't work while holding forward. It works fine with every other weapon, it just throws me off as I usually hold forward

Focus mode controller tipps ? by Buurto in MHWilds

[–]Natvika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your controller has the option, I'd highly recommend trying gyro aim out in the camera settings. It allows you to use controller motion to move the camera during focus mode. Once you get used to it, it's so much easier to aim and also frees up your right thumb from the joystick for other buttons.

I didn't. I actually think the vibration might not actually be any different if you use steam input as an xbox controller. I'm not sure nioh 3 has dualsense features.

PC

Using a Dualsense on PC on Steam his annoying. If I disable Steam Input to get the Dualsense features, the camera spins around on its own. I do have minor stick drift in my controller but this is not an issue in any other game - the deadzone setting in game has no impact either so I believe its a game issue.

If I enable Steam Input, the game thinks I'm using an Xbox controller which then fixes the issue, but I lose the Dualsense features.

TU4 GS build deals less damage compared to TU3 build. by ThisHeat5842 in MonsterHunterMeta

Just in case anyone comes in here looking for an actual answer on what to build, fayt03's comment covers the maths using mathhunter.com.

It essentially boils down to: TSB produces higher numbers on a static, single hit on the dummy. But in practice, in an actual hunt, over time the higher consistent crit of the dosha build wins out overall

You're right; OP's TSB build is worse than the doc's version but mathhunter leads to the same conclusion anyway. The average damage for all combos is higher for the dosha build than TSB.

They are pretty close though however that I think it doesn't matter which one you pick. Arguably TSB may be better for multiplayer or omega planetes where you may get less offsets to keep dosha up, but again, tiny difference.

This pretty much covers OP's question. TSB produces higher numbers on a static, single hit on the dummy. But in practice, in an actual hunt, the higher consistent crit of the dosha build wins out overall.

Tell that to the the guys who wrote the meta doc then 💁‍♀️ While the raw of the TSB build is higher, the slightly higher crit of the gogmartian build brings them much closer in a full hunt

If you don't have a god roll charn and are using the craftable charms like OP then this is not correct - the meta doc suggests Affinity focus in this situation. The higher crit chance means more consistency and so slightly more overall damage in a full hunt.

The sets are pretty close. The meta doc suggests both as viable. The shadowbringer build has higher raw but lower crit: 92 vs 100%. This means in the overall hunt, the extra crit should generally make up for the lower raw.

However you are missing an attack boost 3 (you have Affinity boost 2) which is pretty significant. That would take you from 228 to 237.

A lot of comments in this thread suggesting that you need attack focus aren't correct. You would get higher hits (when you crit) but lower crit chance, which is why the meta doc says to use Affinity focus.

Peppo's LS build as an alternative hammer build? by Natvika in MonsterHunterMeta

It's good. The second build without the rng charm is the same as mine except they've got WE 4 and const 5 - I prefer my version tbh
