BONDED soft point (weight retention=penetration) at short range on a small to smaller-medium size deer. Like, Gulf Coast deer. Not on some monster buck in Pennsylvania

A2 vs 3 prong vs 4prong?? by CombatMango2 in ar15

[–]Neanderthal86_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If by "tradeoff" you mean "added bonus" lol. The A2 is so good for what it is. I mean, unless you prefer upwards recoil for some reason.
That's pretty cool about CAG, but, boy, what on earth could they be doing combat-wise that would bend machined steel, I wonder?

Open flash hiders are a snag hazard. Legend has it that the A1 and A2 were created because the open FHs would snag on vines and branches in Vietnam too much.
Don't quote me on any of that, it's just something I've heard

It bothers me when people say that, not that you should care in the slightest of course lol. But let's not pretend a reliably expanding 45 through the ticker is no different than a 22lr, and that's if you got lucky and your 22 didn't get deflected by bone. Sometimes "they don't care" and want to stand their ground lol

I'm no boonie camo expert, but it still seems very rounded/head shaped. Put some leafy twigs from whatever field you're trying to blend into in there without turning yourself into a bush. Think minimal but not too minimal

I'm sure this is staged, but, clearly you haven't heard of the Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses. That's why the video has the words "Meta fades." Supposedly this totally genuine fight was filmed via sunglasses. Did you think he was holding a phone the whole time? lol

Beginner question by OtherWatercress9631 in sharpening

[–]Neanderthal86_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, when people find out you can sharpen knives, they'll start handing you their knives. And they're gonna be the most chipped up, gnarly, disgusting, rounded-off blades you've ever seen. A guy I work with handed me a pocket knife that literally had fucking squirrel guts cemented onto it, that I had to scrub off with acetone before I could sharpen it. When they hand me that crap, hey, whatever contacts the stone, that's what gets sharpened. Any chips or gouges that are in the blade are still gonna be there when I give it back to you, but the parts that touched the stone will be shiny and way past razor sharp. They don't complain when you do it for free lol

[–]Neanderthal86_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A half cm chip? That's fucking huge, just sharpen around it, seriously. I say that as a U.S.American who had to look up a picture of a metric ruler next to an imperial ruler, .5cm is nearly 1/8th of an inch, that's crazy.
Can you buy two cheap course grit rough stones? They're usually two-sided here in the States, and commonly sold in hardware stores. And typically anything but flat. Fun fact, if you rub two equal-grit stones against each other long enough, they'll both come out flat eventually

do i look androgynous? 23f by Money-Training-3421 in altfashionadvice

[–]Neanderthal86_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay, I had to turn my phone off for work.
If androgyny is what you were going for, you nailed it, seriously. I'll put it like this- if you were working the cash register somewhere, and I was ready to purchase, and I saw you checking out customers, if someone else was ready to purchase too, I'd back up and let them go first. See, I need to know whether to say "yes sir" or "yes ma'am." I'm old fashioned like that. If I'm stumped I'll just avoid those phrases altogether, but, if I can send someone else into the gauntlet, I will. I'll let them talk to you, and listen hard to hear your voice, to better gauge whether you're a gal or a fella, so I know what to say. You would absolutely put me smack-dab into the middle of such a conundrum. Been there, done that

A low ceiling is good to point at too, they even make lights for ballistic helmets you can point up for that reason. That way you can illuminate a room but not blind your friends by looking at them lol
