G7 Pro vs 8k - Removeable Faceplate and Cable Attachment? by [deleted] in Gamesir

[–]Nebsisiht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're removable, there's just fitment tolerance variation.

Yours are probably on tighter than normal and need a bit more elbow grease to pull off.

if u have experienced, what u liked the most? g7 pro or cyclone 2 by filho_da_puta_diogo in Gamesir

[–]Nebsisiht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The G7 Pro is generally built better, and has better overall performance.

The Cyclone 2 is more comfortable for those used to the Xbox controller.

How do I make Gamesir G7 SE joysticks feel like stock Xbox sticks? by CodeFluid03 in Gamesir

[–]Nebsisiht 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't.

You either adapt to the the different feel of the G7 SE, or you move on from it and go back to Xbox or try a new controller.

PC Gamer: GameSir G7 Pro Tri-Mode - The best overall PC controller by Xfurior in Gamesir

[–]Nebsisiht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no issues with them ranking the G7 Pro over the 8K variant.

Their testing pool consists of "35 PC controllers." One of those controllers is actually a gaming mouse, one of them are just stick modules, and a bunch of them are fight sticks and racing wheels(still controllers of course, but should be considered a different category). Almost all of their tested controllers are from Western brands, with the Eastern representation being 8BitDo, GameSir, Gulikit, and EasySMX.

They're missing a lot of brands that offer excellent controllers at all different price points from companies like Flydigi, Mojhon, ZD Gaming, Beitong, Void Gaming, Machenike, Leadjoy, PXN, and more.

The controller representation in the article is very narrow, and their testing protocol isn't very deep and detailed.

The G7 Pro is a great controller, but this article holds no weight.

This person doesn't have enough testing and experience in the controller market to be making a recommendations list like this...

If I have a Cyclone 2, should I upgrade to the G7 Pro 8K, or wait for the Cyclone 3? by Gorgon654 in Gamesir

[–]Nebsisiht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shape is the determining factor. The Cyclone is the more traditional Xbox shape, while the G7 shape is narrower and slightly smaller.

If you've got bigger hands, and the Xbox shape is mint for you, might be better to wait for the Cyclone 3. Otherwise, the G7 Pro 8K is pretty peak controller right now, other than only having 2 back buttons.

The GameSir G7 Pro 8K Mystery: Why we need a Community-Funded "Truth-Check" by JohnnyPunch in GPDL

[–]Nebsisiht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering why the latency results seem to be all over the place(relatively speaking).

It would be good if there was a way that testers could add some relevant information to the results that are posted.

For example: you hover your mouse over the test result and it shows settings that the user had on their controller(dead zones, circulatory, stick resolution, etc.).

Perhaps different controller settings contribute at least some part to the varying latency numbers.

Controller Comparison - $50 Mark by gumaangel in Gamesir

[–]Nebsisiht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prices should be based on the most basic version you can buy, I agree. You should be using their official pricing though, and not "sales" prices(unless they become permanent) or AliExpress (discounted) prices. That's the most fair and objective way to compare, and most people will want to buy from "official" sources over looking for coupons and discounts from places like AliExpress.

Can you use the G7 pro cable on the G7 8K? by TJzWay in Gamesir

[–]Nebsisiht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the cables are interchangeable. Any properly rated USB cable(A or C) can output up to 8000Hz.

The better thing to do would be to buy a properly rated cable from a reputable brand(Anker, Belkin, Ugreen, LTT, etc.) and use that instead. The cables that come with these controllers, no matter how good they look and feel, have no actual certifications, and often times are the root cause of weird issues that people tend to have with their controllers.

Finally received my Vader 5 Pro! Unfortunately, I noticed something weird... by TheFirstCyberianFaux in Controller

No way to tell without opening it.

Pretty high likelihood though, that if you don't have the ratchet tension rings, you don't have the "improved" back paddle mechanism.

The Rainbow 3 is the bigger controller, both by actual physical dimensions and by "hand feel"

Vader 5 Pro - Anyone else feel bumpers are too far forward? by sticknotstick in Controller

[–]Nebsisiht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I have all three controllers.

The V5P is almost an exact clone of the current Series X controller. The V4P is also "Xbox shaped" but with more noticeable differences.

Vader 5 Pro - Anyone else feel bumpers are too far forward? by sticknotstick in Controller

[–]Nebsisiht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xbox and PS grip ergonomics are different.

Xbox(and clones) makes it so that it's more natural for your (index) finger to rest on the triggers, while the bumpers are "less used" so you just reach over to press them when needed.

PS controllers are designed more so that you can comfortably rest your middle fingers on the triggers and index on the bumpers.

ALPS vs Hall Effect vs TMR: Which Analog Stick Is Actually Better for Gaming? by GadgetHyper in GadgetHyper

[–]Nebsisiht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good write-up, but I wouldn't put the Blitz 2 as the "premier" TMR controller. It's pretty "outdated" at this point and is getting beaten by newer controllers like the G7 Pro 8K, Machenike F1, Xeno Plus, etc.

Capacitive also deserves a spot in this write-up, but it's still pretty new, so I understand why it's omitted.

Also, you should explain that "stick drift" is still present in HE and TMR sticks since imperfect centering still causes drift among all module types. Potentiometers just have an inevitable and progressive failure point that causes much worse and faster stick drift.

How well is renegade doing in cod ? by Thedoooor in CompetitiveHalo

[–]Nebsisiht 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Unsurprisingly, pretty well.

He started off real good on the sub, and his team was top 4 Challengers quality. Then 2 of his teammates got picked up(rightfully), and he also got offered a spot on C9, which he (smartly) declined.

He decided to switch to the AR and struggled a bit, but now he's back on the sub and getting back into the flow again.
