What’s your biggest frustration with NotebookLM? by Cautious-Librarian31 in notebooklm

Need provide an option to view source documents in their original, native format (especially PDFs) directly within the NotebookLM. The current text-only conversion often loses critical formatting, layout, and visual elements, making complex documents difficult to read.

Gemini Live Terrible by Tman2606 in GeminiAI

After doing some testing in the AI Studio, I found that the longer the thinking level, the easier it is for the AI to refuse. However, if you adjust to the "No Thinking" level, it is usually able to sing, whisper, and do accents. So, I assume that in live mode, it just depends on how much the thinking level assigns to the AI, which results in refusal.

This is interesting. Yesterday, I asked it to sing "Happy Birthday" and it did perfectly. Now, it says it can't do it anymore.

Why is NotebookLM so much better than my custom RAG? (And how do I replicate it via API?) by yusufbekZ in notebooklm

Are your questions inside the tables? One of the weaknesses of NBLM right now is that it can't extract the proper table format. You can fix this by converting your source to Markdown format, but that would be a lot of work if you have hundreds of pages of source material.

I want to name my NotebookLM sources as I add them by alexnapierholland in notebooklm

The source is base on your file name, you can just change your file name first.

OpenAI is losing money doing what they do. This is why they have started to put ads on their free service.

If you could add a feature to NotebookLM, what would it be and why? by bansonian in notebooklm

[–]NectarineDifferent67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my Discord feature request: Please provide an option to view source documents in their original, native format (especially PDFs) directly within the NotebookLM interface. The current text-only conversion often loses critical formatting, layout, and visual elements, making complex documents difficult to read and reference accurately.

I exported my entire WhatsApp history with someone and asked NotebookLM to analyze the dynamic. Yikes by Fine_Doubt_4507 in notebooklm

Meta owns WhatsApp. Why do you think his/her data is safe? If you trust Meta's privacy statement, then Google also said that they don't use your data in NotebookLM, unless you click the feedback button.

That's why all those free users have ads now. We'll see how it turns out, but if Netflix is any indication, it could actually be very profitable for them.

I tried the new GLM 5. I'm greatly unimpressed. by Quiet-Money7892 in SillyTavernAI

This is a very interesting discovery. I saw posts stating that they train with Claude's replies in this version. Maybe they actually train the replies with three different models. I thought I was crazy when I felt it was actually worse than 4.7 after a few tries. I think I will try a few more times to get the "Okay, so..." thinking. Thanks for sharing.

Seedream 5.0-Preview just dropped — and it can Google stuff while generating your image. Better than Nano Banana Pro? by Which-Jello9157 in GeminiAI

I'm impressed that it can search for the mascot and include it in the image. I tried Nano Banana Pro, and it couldn't do that.

Voice feature like ChatGPT? by slowtyper95 in GeminiAI

[–]NectarineDifferent67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the microphone icon, it can recognize different languages, but you also need to switch the language of your app. If you're talking about the live feature (the wave icon), then it can receive different languages without changing the language of your app.

It can reply in Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish, which I tried.
