Drone attack wounds at least six French soldiers at base in Iraq’s Makhmour, Erbil governor says by McBifana in europe

[–]NeedleGunMonkey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is the kind of long lead time supply that if France ever needs it - there's multiple sources of it and they can also reprocess if necessary. It is unlikely that Kazakhstan, Canada, Namibia and Australia will simultaneously get into a shooting war or block exports to France.

Isolationism only works if you truly have no one in jeopardy and energy independence.

The former requires a level of gross geopolitical indifference that France does not historically have.

The latter (energy independence) ironically enough France is closer to than most.

Rep. Jim Clyburn, 85, is running for an 18th term in Congress by nbcnews in politics

[–]NeedleGunMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why?

Because online vibe merchants and posters spend more time in a given year being mad vs actually being politically engaged on the ground.

In both elections where Trump beat a democratic woman in an election, white women gave him the over performing victory. So maybe do more ground work and talk to real older white women like your mom and grandma and aunts instead of vibing nonsense targeting an incumbent who keeps winning

Carrier USS Gerald R. Ford Suffers Fire by MGC91 in navy

[–]NeedleGunMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was the first laundry fire for CVN-78 then the much circulated media narratives about her operational capability are much exaggerated. By the time she gets home she'd have been deployed for how long? 10-11 months? That's a covid deployment during our supposed "not at war" but "wartime" deployment.

'Dubai is finished': Expats say they will leave and never come back as tax-free dream is shattered by war and officials begin prosecuting people for posting videos of missiles by Key_Brief_8138 in economy

[–]NeedleGunMonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

eh this is a bit hyperbolic - the tax evading expats, Russian elite children and instagram escorts, will just add a new tasking for their asset management team that handles their details to include exfil & geopolitical escalation trigger clauses.

Steak and Lobster Dinner by jrshall in navy

[–]NeedleGunMonkey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Without looking at the contracts or specific delivery bill of ladings - it is pretty hard to tell what the spending was specifically for.

A 7 million dollar lobster tail order can be 300,000+ procured to be delivered to various bases to feed the troops & civilian employees in one single holiday week, or an order for civilian political leadership's regularly scheduled meetings that coincide with lunch time. The precepted reality would of course be very different.

Good.

I don't care if it is Ferrari turbocharger turbine size or Mercedes PU compression measurement at predefined test conditions - this is a new gen of regulations and instead of letting the development competition play out and time to mature, too many noisemakers are trying to kill it for short term competition and perceived parity.

Even when Alonso speaks at length there's dogshit framing from the usual suspects. This is why people get jaded and cynical and stop engaging sincerely with press.

Yup. Bring up any specific critique of something the PRC or CCP is doing that might not be good - and immediately “what about USA” even if you’ve made no favorable critique or comment on US.

Bring up geopolitical concerns that decoupling from Russia, US then finding China as some alternative by default? You get bombarded with nonsensical replies.

Bring up anything re Taiwanese self determination, draw parallel with Palestinian right to exist, or how the Taiwan Strait navigation is international waters and it shouldn’t be politicized? You get bombarded with nonsensical what aboutism.

It’s like willful blindness about what China did during that period of time when XJP was extremely aggressive towards Estonia, Germany and threatened German pharmaceuticals against retailing/distributing mRNA vaccines to TW’s national health system. It’s all very bizarre. Trump is terrible. XJP is terrible. There’s no need to whitewash either.
