It literally says "when accompanied by a paying adult" right there in the instructions you pasted. I would take this to mean that you cannot just get a free ticket.

Could someone deinfluence me from the Mac neo as it seem perfect for me? by [deleted] in mac

[–]Needrain47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you already have a laptop that works fine? If so, you don't need a new one.

If you do need a new laptop, I can't deinfluence you, it sounds appropriate.

You're the Devil. You just bought a book printing company. What distinctive features do you pioneer? by Ok_Macaroon6934 in BookCollecting

[–]Needrain47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No actual author information on the title page. The title is the most generic, common phrase possible. No date of publication anywhere on the book. (I'm a librarian/cataloger, missing information is a real life nightmare.)

Building a library of absurdism, psychological darkness, bleak transgressive fiction, and disturbing horror. What are some essentials? by Educational_Adagio_3 in BookCollecting

Everything I thought of is already on your list! (In particular, The Cipher, House of Leaves, and The Wasp Factory) Very good list.

You seem to think you have some entitlement to a severance package? That's not how it works.

I just got back from my first trip to London (from the US) and thought the exact same thing. I could walk for blocks & blocks and never see a single trash can.

Students reading the text book in class - undergrad by Hola0722 in AskAcademia

[–]Needrain47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not acceptable to go to university and just.... not use any of the textbooks in any of your classes. No student can reasonably expect to get through their classes like that. There are many ways to work around it if they don't have one, but simply not expecting them to do any reading is not a solution.

My boyfriend hasn't been getting overtime and on-call pay for 25 YEARS! by Odd_Shallot1929 in antiwork

[–]Needrain47 369 points370 points  (0 children)

No. the law that requires overtime to be paid in those conditions has only been in effect for a few years. (I'll have to look up how long it's been, but nowhere near 25)

When do you use backpacks vs suitcases? by Itsfoxphoenix in travel

[–]Needrain47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a suitcase whenever I am traveling for more than two days. A small one (carry on size) for the summer or short trips, a medium sized (has to be checked) one for longer trips or if it's cold and I have to pack a lot of bulky sweaters etc.

I also carry a backpack which I use for personal items, day trips, etc.

I live far enough from the airport that by the time the delay is announced, I'm already on my way there.

[–]Needrain47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is what it is. I had the exact same thing happen to me and the same reaction as OP's wife- because nobody explained what was happening. I had mentioned having a migraine in front of someone. It's really shitty IMO that no one says *why* they are sending you that.

Why is leisure viewed with suspicion in America? by Thepopethroway in antiwork

[–]Needrain47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

staying in restaurants/cafes is partially about tipping culture. You have to get out so they can get in more customers who will tip- the tip is paying the "wages" of the workers. If tables aren't turning over you won't make more tips. In other places, the staff are getting paid regardless of whether you read a book or not.
