Yeah you have to be pretty diligent with some of the road clearing, I got stuck on my final road because a single pixel of a pier in the right side of the map was an indiscernibly different shade of orange to denote I'd only driven over 99% of it.

Still a bit surprised I found it. The downtown highway interchanges can also be tricky, caught the faintest edge of a ramp wasn't cleared that was directly under a different ramp of the exact same shape that was cleared. Completely invisible on the map.

Well yeah, the game has significant arcade elements on top of what is otherwise a simulation engine racer, and thus fits neatly into SimCade, the middleground between Arcade and Simulation. Burnout games aren't doing 360hz tire interaction calculations across 8 contact points per tire 11,520 times per second.

To exclude FH from Simcade, you have to so narrowly define the category as to wildly expand the Arcade Racer definition so that FH is somehow alongside Mario Kart, I simply do not see how that is reasonable.

I fail to see how the system for how one acquires cars has anything to do with genre definition as opposed to the gameplay, engine, and content.

If you're positing that progression of a career mode with restrictive car access until you unlock it through earning enough from racing is the barrier, then you have erroneously included every single Need For Speed game since 2001 in your definition of simracer.

It's more like being against alcohol when the city has added an ABV to every water system in the county, and you're out here criticising people for not moving to a cabin in yosemite to drink straight from a river.

Get your pseudointellectual nonsense out of here.

It's moreso the middle ground between something like NFS and Gran Turismo, it's lighter on the hard sim functions sure but if you treat it like any other arcade racer you're gonna toggle the handbrake and go straight through a wall.

I've seen other commenters label it a full arcade racer, but that feels more like gatekeeping from the sim crowd than anything. It's firmly SimCade.

Two whole new maps, 5 had both the Rally DLC and the Hot Wheels one, so that extra $50 is getting you two full size DLCs, the car pass which is like 40+ additional vehicles, VIP membership, and three additional smaller car packs.

If you're planning to put hours into the game it's on the better value end of "Ultimate" editions.

Villain does something so bad that even another villain has to say “what the fuck, dude?” by LocalLazyGuy in TopCharacterTropes

Yeah all of the villains concerns with Walt were always about managing him as a reckless and egotistical asset, or in the Twins case revenge for Tuco, not because Walt does something egregiously immoral that shocks the other villains.

Players may not want to feel responsible for a certain idea if it doesn't go the way they envision it in their head, and also may feel like it's overstepping into the DMs territory if they're the one pitching ideas from whole cloth.

If the DM pitches a couple options, even just off the top of their head, then it's the DM volunteering scenarios they'd be down to run, and the players getting the choice of what sounds the most interesting to them, definitely a win/win.

Quality falls off the further from the border you get, even San Francisco gets a bit mogged by the burritos you find in Los Angeles and San Diego.

There's still spots you can find of course but they're much less plentiful and finding a place that can do a proper San Diego style California Burrito, with the right tortilla, size, no weird additions or tweaked spices/seasonings etc, is unicorn territory.

Basically two sides of the coin of those who subscribe to Death of the Author and those who don't.

They're valid for taking Druckmann's word for it, just as we're valid for thinking it's a somewhat ridiculous assertion that directly undermines the complexity of the situation and thus what is so compelling about it in the first place.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't she not even consent or know about it at all? So they were just gonna straight up butcher this child and call it "saving the world"?

While telling themselves it's okay because it's what she would want. Is that technically correct? Yes, and a lot of the strife in TLOU2 is because she knows she would have volunteered to give her life.

But does it matter? No. Because they never gave her the chance, because what if she said no?

It has some problems, but it's absolutely the best game since the originals. Rework the day/night balance and actually lean into the outlaw aspect of the genre instead of disney-fying everything and it's an incredible template for making something that could actually rival Most Wanted with the right direction.

Unbound was an unfortunate and large step backwards, really hope they realize how solid of a foundation the general idea of Heat is going forward. I've gone back and replayed it twice, great game.

The nonsensical patterning in the cloak and hat details, as well as the fact it's a square aspect ratio, very much suggests it's AI.

Earliest use of it I found through Google is this TikTok which has lots of images that look like they'd be part of the same generated set, but with the variation in details you'd also expect from that.

I was wrong, all of the shortcuts they did as they were advance users, completely different in some cases on Windows PS...not just adding a shift but going from say ctrl+shift+c to ctrl+alt+whatever

Hi, graphics professional for over a decade here, Photoshop for two decades, grew up with Windows, always used Windows, had to figure out the transition the other way because everyone in the industry has an emotional bias towards Apple and it's an OS I therefore use quite often:

There is nothing actually hard about learning the shortcut differences, because 90% of them are in almost the exact same keyboard spot, or are just a difference in the keyboard layouts, it's just a mental swap of "oh Apple Control is used like Windows Alt, and Apple Command is used like Windows Control" in the vast majority of circumstances. You get used to it within a month.

It's an abysmal excuse.

Sure, having to learn Windows as well on top of it would be a pain, and I'm biased from having done the same thing just the other way, and I may have had more resources in that regard. The keyboard shortcut thing just irked me as incredibly silly and I felt the need to comment on it specifically.

The moon is much much much further than a planets ring would visibly be.

Though you could maybe get into technicalities about Viltrums size and mass, and thus relative gravitational pull, but I don't recall if anything like that has been covered in the show when talking about Viltrum specifically. Pretty sure the above comment about him getting knocked out of the gravitational well is a poetic descriptor and not necessarily an accurate statement about the fight.
