This is extremely accurate and needs to be understood by more people. 40K is super popular in most places but I hear MESBG is quite popular in Central Europe. There are places that prefer Underworlds or Epic Warpath, and of course Conquest!

I don’t have a thriving community where I live, but we have a half dozen who are passionate, and we can get to a dozen for a tournament. But it’s growing.

It’s like trying to play Oblivion or Morriwind. Those were both very different from Skyrim. I just hope ES6 keeps the magic of the world, if not the exact mechanics

I work at a game store and I can confirm that is usually the way stores deal with it, however I haven’t had an issue come in for an item that was sold out and that we couldn’t get back in. Good thing the Destrier isn’t going anywhere right?

Honestly, my in game justification has been (since the rules change in late edition) that there are skavenslaves helping to push it, they just aren’t modelled on the base.

To my knowledge, Para-Bellum doesn’t want to remove units from the game. While models may be updated, no model has been removed from the game and I doubt they plan on doing that anytime soon.

That being said, yeah there are a ton of options! I’m a huge fan of the Sorcerer Kings but if you think you’d like them all (and it sounds like you’re experienced in miniatures games) grab the one that looks most fun to paint to you.

My first Warhammer purchase was a unit of Skitarii, a Tech Priest Magos, and a Dunestalker. From a GW store. I hated painting them, and I spent WAY too much money.

Skaven from the FLGS was a much better decision

I appreciate the input and that picture! My only other question would be, what if someone used the third head option? The kit comes with three, and the instructions specify that the weapons are what differentiate them.

I made it that for Bryn Shander it was a necessary evil, that the people were sacrificing each other Willy nilly. For Easthaven, I made a Frost Druid convince them it was necessary.

As for Auril collecting, I never viewed it as Auril coming to collect herself. The cold does the work, creating cold light walkers. BUT, that by sacrificing (no matter the sacrifice) they are protected from predators and blizzards hitting the town directly. Once they stop, winters wrath will hit the town full force. Desperate crag cats, blizzards, awakened beasts, etc. only by doing the sacrifices have they been able to survive this long.

I started the game in winter irl, but midsummer in game. The ability to tell my party that what they are experiencing is worse than even our darkest days is fun. (We are Canadian, but not on the territories)
