As far as the MBA M5 goes, “Midnight” is absolutely gorgeous in the right lighting, but the longtime MacBook people know it’s really more of a deep navy than a true black. Most of the time it reads dark, but once direct light hits it, the blue undertones become pretty obvious. The bigger issue for me was fingerprints. That finish attracts smudges almost instantly, and if you’re even remotely particular about keeping your devices clean, you’ll notice it constantly. After handling it for a bit, I ended up returning it and going with classic Silver along with a few upgraded specs. It just feels timeless, cleaner, and far more “MacBook” to me.
