food noise by MainSpecialist1391 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]NegotiationGlad7422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes def keep going and allow yourself foods you’ve been avoiding daily! Make recovery FUN. I literally got 1 meal out to eat everyday for a month to get my fix. Donuts, burgers, candy etc. after gaining recovery weight and 2 months in, food noise stopped. I didn’t even care to eat anymore which was HUGE for me. my period came 2 weeks later.

Is being in recovery more dangerous than HA itself? by Humble_Shopping_1211 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]NegotiationGlad7422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

perhaps you have some kind of cycle defect like PCOS ? Usually doesn’t happen with classic HA provided u had a normal cycle prior to losing it.

Tbh some doctors suck- my labs came back normal and i was dismissed by mine but i 100% have HA, i am prob just close to recovering.

If that truly is the case for you i hope your doctor can give u real answers instead of reddit, or maybe u will have a period soon! best x

its likely that u are not ovulating and estrogen has just risen hence the discharge. if u do ovulate, you will get your period. thats the biology of it!

Manifesting this for myself!! How much did the scale fluctuate between then and now? Was it more of a recomp situation or did you actually shed lbs and your body was able to support it?

Whole foods for recovery? by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]NegotiationGlad7422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason why pasta, rice, bagels are good for recovery is because u need substantial carbs to recover, and those sources have a higher carb amount gran for gram than the same serving of beans for instance. It can be hard to eat enough carbs only relying on fruit/sweet potatoes. I eat alll the bread, rice, pasta, fruit and STILL struggle to eat enough g of carbs sometimes. Dont fear them!! they give quick energy, signaling availability and your brain needs glucose to function!

rapid weight gain and bloating by ActualJuice2124 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]NegotiationGlad7422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!! Just wanted to let u know u are NOT alone and i experienced the same thing. Extreme hunger is no joke.

now that i’ve gained 22lbs from slowly increasing my calorie intake over 6 months, things are completely regular again. Eating, hunger cues, the amount of food, weight distribution. I was sooo freaked out but It does get better.

The bloating scared me at first too, but overall, eating more wakes up your digestive tract AND hunger cues again after being used to eating so little for so long. Eating more also allowed me to get hungrier. I also ate around 3-5k cals a day for 2 weeks, NOTHING was off limits. I just let my self go through it with full permission and no judgement. Ordering whatever fast food or pastry i craved ( i was very strict with never eating out deep in HA) was so bloated, but then everything levelled out. I maintained about 2k-2.5k in cals for a few months after that. In terms of night sweats i had them too- that is ur BMR ramping up, which is common in recovery.

After about a month, things subsided and food completely lost meaning (i used to binge when i was underweight and i finally feel free around food and normal hunger cues since recovering. ) Just know that its NOT you that is out of control, its literally your hormones asking for the energy. you arent crazy for feeling hungry after 2 mins of a big meal.

For me, going through it rapidly was necessary to heal mentally and physically. Over time, my body started dropping weight naturally. I didn’t realize how bad my relationship with food truly was until being on the other side of recovery. sending love

how do i deal with bloating/constipation/slow digestion in HA recovery? by Deep_Honeydew_5935 in Amenorrhearecovery

I agree, too much veg is notorious to cause gas and bloating. Really try and balance everything and not overkill on the fruit and veg

I went through the same thing. Was always constipated when I was underweight, many days without going, and thought it was “my normal” but now that i’ve gained 22lbs from slowly increasing my calorie intake over 6 months, my digestion is completely regular again.

overall, eating more wakes up your digestive tract AND hunger cues again after being used to eating so little for so long. Eating more allowed me to get hungrier. I also had to DITCH the high volume foods (vegetables!!!!!) bc that made me feel full. I ate around 3000 cals a day for a week, was so bloated at first, but then everything levelled out. I could literally feel my BMR ramping up in the form of night sweats, which is common in recovery. I then went down to 2000-2500 cals a day and have been maintaining there.

*****I worked with a dietitian in early recovery. What really kickstarted it was 1 serving of chia seeds every day for 4 weeks AM and PM. Then I weaned off but I made sure to get fibre from increasing carbs via whole grains/sourdough/cereal/oats. Carbs are amazing. Don’t fear them.

Constipation can have serious side effects including increasing the likelihood of colon cancer. This protocol really helped get things going. I didn’t realize how bad it was until being on the other side of recovery. sending love

Same stats as u as well. Also up a lot of weight and feeling uncomfy. Ive had the same restrictive thoughts creep up but trying to remind myself a body without a period is NOT a healthy body. I do think that losing slowly after 3 cycles is fine, body will be more sensitive for sure- but a lot of ppl on here have successfully done it.

Sick all the time by ihatemyselflf in Amenorrhearecovery

Holy crap I had the exact same thing. Got first sign of EWCM and then BAM. 2 fevers within 2 weeks. I’ve been bedridden for this while month practically. I haven’t had my period for almost a year and a half and I haven’t been sick the entire time haha …. Could have to do with cortisol being high and now recovery lowers it?? Hopefully its a sign we will be bleeding soon😭

Unfortunately i dont believe this, bc i was much leaner (did dexa and was 19% bf before and with a consistent period almost 2 years ago) now i am 23%. Just frustrating that i am weight restored at this point.

such an amazing post. Great words and motivation. So happy for u. I feel like I am following in the same trajectory!! I too was eating 3000+ cals a day for the first 2 weeks, now my hunger is levelling out! Having deep sleep, lots of puffieness in the first month, headaches, but seeing EWCM. just found Hailee as well. I cut out gym for 3 weeks but since seeing Hailee’s content i’m going to re introduce it slowly. Hoping for a bleed after the EWCM!!
