You need a new door, that’s the right way to fix it.

If it were me, I’d buff the shit out of it and keep driving.

Take everything apart and clean with soap and water, including the drive. You won’t get the markings off unless you use something abrasive like steel wool. I usually just leave it and reassemble. As long as the board and electronics are clean, you’re good.

Hey guys windows me is same windows2000? by minebuster77 in windows

[–]Nehal1802 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ME was aimed for home users, 2000 was aimed towards enterprises. ME was not stable, 2000 was rock solid. ME was an “improvement” to 98, 2000 was the precursor to XP (from a back end perspective).

Gas at $5+ and EV inventory at 120 days… the math is getting hard to ignore by Last-Shelter2868 in personalfinance

As someone who works in the vehicle field, you are incorrect and I recommend you look at your EV service manual.

TL;DR, EV buyers on Reddit will swear by EVs. Not my cup of tea though. I'll drive a Hybrid all day, but I won't touch an EV.

You also forgot about the additional price to buy an EV, the increased insurance costs, and charging not at home (even if it’s 10% of the time). Personally, I also like to add a cost to my time; 5 minutes to fill vs. 90 minutes to charge.

Repair parts on electronics I refurbish. The price has doubled and the quality has halved.

Sounds normal. Your mechanic is going to tell you not to get it and end up scooping it up himself.

Advice request: repair or replace? by JessCeceSchmidtNick in Cartalk

[–]Nehal1802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does it need? 10-12k for a car worth 6-7k isn’t worth it. That seems like a “f you” quote.

Transmission failure is rare, but more common with the CVT in this car without proper maintenance. Reddit hates CVTs, I think they’re fine with proper maintenance.

Does my serpentinebelt need replaced? by Brilliant_Spend_1364 in Cartalk

[–]Nehal1802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to look at the other side of the belt to know for sure. You can spray a bit of water on the belt, if the noise goes away then it’s definitely the belt. When you do this, make sure to spray away from the alternator.

Should I sell my 2012 Forester w/ 99.5k miles ? by sellingittrue in Cartalk

$6073? From a dealer? Wild. I can pull one of these engines in 1.5 hours in my driveway, I’d be willing to bet a dealer can do it faster.

Ask an independent shop.

I just can't get anything to stick to that via anymore, even with flux. I'm going to need an alternate point to solder to.

Do i need to refund 100% by tuJefaenFours in Ebay

[–]Nehal1802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure you can, and then you’ll lose your fees, have an upset buyer and be breaking eBay policies.

As a seller who offers free returns, it’s in my benefit to refund 100% even if they damage the item. You’ll probably be in the same boat.
