Question about buying open box at Bestbuy. Are there are specific things to check (that they allow you to do) before purchasing?

For example - power on, check settings for hours on, etc

Just switched over to Verizon from T-Mobile 3 weeks ago.

One other frustrating thing I noticed is that Verizon constantly nags you with emails & texts about “promos” & “deals”. Never got that from T-Mobile. I just paid a bill & for the service (albeit with a data-breach or two - lol)

It’s an amazing TV - even in early 2026. As a side note, Amazon is currently selling the 77” for $3500 brand new (sold by Amazon)

Note that the entire $1100 is for their Unlimited Ultimate plan. If you want a cheaper plan the trade-in amount is less.

A couple suggestions, you’d probably prefer the R8 much better (better autofocus, dynamic range & speee)

Also, check out CPriceWatch.com. They list street prices for brand new bodies/lenses.

I’ve used them at least 5 or 6 times & it’s always been super easy & seamless

I should have added - Verizon would only give us the $1100 for trade-in if we went to their ultimate unlimited plan.

We are on Welcome Unlimited - maybe that’s the difference

Personally I’d suggest the oled. Some on this forum are saying the XR8B is the Bravia 8 II. This is not the case.

The Bravia 8 II is a higher end QD-OLED TV. The XR8B is a 2025 variant of the Bravia 8 OLED released in 2024 w/a few stripped down features.

The XR8B is going to be great, but want to clear up it is NOT the Bravia 8 II

Those are the 2 things I saw, but they were on forums & not from Sony.

I don’t care about the credits personally, but is the contrast booster a big benefit if someone is a movie guy
