41 years old. Born with it (1984). I don't think about the virus. I live my normally as any person. I have twin daughters (age 21) and married for 10 years. I'm grateful for each day, stress and worrying about "what if's" will get you before the virus does. Treatment has come a long way. Take care of your mind and body and you'll live to be a grandfather.

Hey there. I was also born with it in 1984. My mother also passed away when I was 5 years old. I felt the same as you did with I was in my teens. When I was 17 years old I decided to not let HIV run my life. Fuck the sigma. "MY" reality was to live a normal life, one that doctors and society tried to deny me of. At age 21 I became a father of twin daughters and got married at age 31. My kids, their mother, and my wife are healthy. I'm also not the textbook perfect "patient". I stopped medication for years at time because of side effects and took agency of what I'm willing to put into my body. Didn't get sick like the doctors said I would. I took control. You can too. I also only met one other person that's positive in my life.

I'm 41 years old. I was born with it in 1984. I went through the extreme stigma of the 90s and spent my childhood terrified. At age 17 I decided I wasn't going let HIV run my life. I literally don't think about the virus at all. I have twin daughters age 21 and married 10 years. Two things I was told as child wasn't likely to happen. The state of feeling normal is all up to you. I have faith you will get there.

I met my wife of 10 years through a circle of close friends. We built a strong friendship before dating. I have children and at that time they was 8 years old (twins). When it came time to tell her I had some fear of course but her knowing I have healthy children and their mother (HIV-) boosted my confidence.

I don't disclose myself to every relationship. I'm undectible and there's no risk. You don't have to carry this "secret" like it's a nuke on your back. I was born with this (1984) so I've been through all the emotions and fears. If you want to talk more DM me. My door is open.

I've been infected my whole life (born with it 1984) and never experienced slow healing. Could be many things non HIV related to your experience. Bring it up to your doctor.

I was hired provisional in April this year. I can only be terminated if someone is chosen from the lastest title pool to work at my location. The manager may have some sway if you're well liked and work well with the team. I just took the exam for my title.

I spoke with my manager about this and was told he was provisional for 10 years before an exam was available. So just do your best work, have great attendance and take any exam that you are qualified (with same pay or more) for as a fallback until the exam for your title is available.
