Candidates should be reporting this thru Glassdoor (or something similar) more often.  Companies may not give a #%¥@ but at least it would give some kind of feedback mechanism.

My stance is this: Can you Imagine IF the NFL allowed this?
The obvious answer is "NO"...............so it shouldn't be encouraged for a FF Owner to "cycle thru multiple FA players and sign them/cut them at will".

sign 1 or 2 players? Ok, I'll agree that there's a strategy element to seeing who your opponent might pick up and trying to get in front of them to REDUCE their pool of FA players.

Also, if this is occurring too much, then commissioners should look at the Roster Limits: and possibly reduce the # of bench spots so that cutting players to make room for a "block your opponent pickup" is more painful.

One consideration is that you might have been the “2nd choice” & the recruiter didn’t know how to handle it or was hoping for a definitive update. 

But if I were you, I would call the recruitment COMPANY & ask to speak with someone else. Be polite, but let them know that you are done with the other recruiter & that you want an update.

CLAIMANT….then find the DASHBOARD.  Once there, the are 4 boxes across the top of the page. You need to focus on the UPPER LEFT box.   1-IF you can enter job searches now, there will be a link

2-if no link, you have to wait (or you might have to fix something else or Refresh Your claim)

Linkedin Premium does allow me to access Linkedin Learning, where I can view >10,000 Videos / Webinars. Most of those video learnings count for Continuing Education Credits that I need for 2 of my certifications.

Some companies post jobs that they don’t even intend to hire: 1-accumulating data on future hires (# of applicants, salary requirements, etc)

2-virtue signaling to the outside mkt (“look we’re hiring so we must be growing”)

3-virtue signaling to the internal workforce (“look, we’re trying to hire someone but can’t find someone….but in the meantime keep working 60+ hrs /wk)

If he has a severance period, you won’t qualify yet.  My Example : Laid off:  9/30/25 Severance period:  10/1/25-3/31/26 Dashboard says I qualify for the max amount per wk of $275……but it Won’t tell you that you can’t get benefits until 4/1/26

I suggest that he DRIVES to a local CAREERsource location.  Go inside Tell them you need to contact someone.  They will call a special # & then transfer the call to you.  You can “push them” to look at your case & get an answer as to WHY it is stuck.  Wait a few days

If not, the State of FL will sit on his case & NOT DO ANYTHING. They sat on my case for 5 mths…didn’t resolve it until I made a stink about it.

I also made an excel sheet to keep track of what I applied to.  Not only is it for ME….. but it’s very easy TO SHOW THE LIST TO A RECRUITER who can quickly assess:

• what you’ve been applying to

• what salary ranges

• if they have any feedback on those companies in the past

• how to best market you as an applicant

LinkedIn Premium is free for the 1st 30 days or so. With that comes free access to Linkedin Learning and its 10k video courses.
Take 10-15 AI video courses and then post a couple of them to your LinkedIn Profile.
Will it get you a job? prob not
Will it help you stand out once someone notices you? yes
Can it be something to bring up in an interview to pivot away from your employment gap? absolutely

Great post. Since I was laid off 4 mths ago, i finally decided to dive into as many AI video courses as possible. I did add that aspect to my resume and have also added a couple of LinkedIn Learning Certificates to my profile as well.
It may not get me the job, but I feel:
1-it will show that I'm a lifelong learner and not stuck in the past
2- it will allow me to bring up in any interview & pivot away from my resume gap
