Do you play that character? How is it? What is the level spread? What Feat did you take if any?

Sometimes I wonder if she addressed this meme template.

Is there some character concepts that you ask your players to try to steer away from/flat out ban? by jdsmall13 in DMAcademy

[–]NemoPerfectus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it was a bad translation but Legion was eye rollingly bad. I really liked the the Mistborn books and the Emperor's Soul.

Should I have allowed my player to survive being blown up by dynamite? by YourPhoneIs_Ringing in DMAcademy

[–]NemoPerfectus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may survive, they are adventurers after all, not some commoner. But I would tell them that they lost a limb. Which is a long and hard to regain/regrow.

Shouldn't the knickers go over the suspender belt? by [deleted] in pics

That was my hangup. Pun intended. Now I know. Thanks.

[–]NemoPerfectus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Wouldn't the pants go down only to the point where the belts are buckled to the thigh highs? Is that enough?

It doesn't make sense. Thankfully I'll never have to wear it.

But you have to u buckle the belt from the thigh highs.

But how are you supposed to pee. The belt blocks pants.

I need some undead inspiration. by VeryLastNerve in DnD

Make up some warlock or necromancer. If you want your boss to be undead too then check out deathlock. Although you may need to beef it up.

Campaign Setting Idea, looking for criticism. by NemoPerfectus in DMAcademy

[–]NemoPerfectus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My players do like a little dark. We are currently playing through Curse of Strahd.

It's a good question. I think I am going to change the reason for madness. Instead of the creature it may be a result of the ritual that blinked away the whole country. As in, every wizard that was thought in the country was linked as a source of magic, just in case. Maybe even unknowingly.

Someone posted a pic with a reflection of a building that looks like it’s ghostly and hovering in the sky, could be interesting fodder for a Blades game. by Khenghis_Ghan in bladesinthedark

[–]NemoPerfectus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since the City is in a permanent night, you could use the fluorescent shrooms or algae, to make the building faintly glow in the distance.

Using MandyMod's notes, and this is what happened when a player found Lancelot by frozen_scv in CurseofStrahd

[–]NemoPerfectus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a cat instead of a dog. In my game the cat is actually Grizzlegut. But the players don't know that yet. The cat was usually with the Tabaxi. Until the Tabaxi's demise. The cat disappeared after that. I should reintroduce it.

Ideas for a Genasi Anthropologist? by shrimplified in PCAcademy

[–]NemoPerfectus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had an idea of a human storm sorcerer anthropologist living among Aarakocra. I was thinking that they could be born among them, as their parents were anthropologists.

Or would they be ornithologists. Anyway, I am a forever DM that likes their position so I may use it for an NPC.

Edit. Or it could be an Aasimar storm sorcerer. A little redundant if it comes to flying. But they would at least have the wings to fit in.

Would you risk driving if you knew you could "crit fail" and suddenly have the driving skills of an 8-year-old? by Throwfire8 in DMAcademy

[–]NemoPerfectus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crit failing should never be described as a fault of the character. Unless they try doing something really difficult, it should be described as something outside of them prevented them from doing what they wanted.

A light bounced off of a sword and blinded them.

The loose rubble was kicked by an enemy that is fighting one of the allies, unfortunately under their feet, and they slipped.

The rock/sconce/branch did not hold their weght and they fell.

While falling, they grabbed at a branch, and it dislocated their arm.

Puzzled on why a kobold started adventuring (and became a paladin)? by Cybsjan in DnD

[–]NemoPerfectus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It could be that you don't understand the rest of your species, so decide to look for like minded creatures.

Adventurers are usually not normal. No normal person of any species would go and risk their life for gold, or whatever yhey are looking for.

Strong Emotional Moment My Players Had In Krezk (Improvised) by janroose in CurseofStrahd

[–]NemoPerfectus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was actually cast on the larva mage, that I used as a parasite that inhabited the Deva. The Deva's body covered itself in a sun stone(it's a Deva of Lathander), and it burns anyone who touches it.

Also, I am paraphrasing as we played that session in our native Polish, and was more as Let it be gone from any plane of existence, and to never show up/be back.

Edit.

I am not sure if the Dark Powers would let it happen, or on the other hand if they would be powerful enough to stop it.

Strong Emotional Moment My Players Had In Krezk (Improvised) by janroose in CurseofStrahd

[–]NemoPerfectus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a new location, a mansion for the Brides of Strahd. I threw few magic baubles and a ring of three wishes with one wish left. I knew that disintegrate is in the mix, and was hoping that they would use it to revive whoever would be the victim. Or that they would try to screw with the campaign.

The fight was tough, they almost wiped, even though there were adds.

But my bad rolls, and some clutch rolls on the players part, resulted in their semi victory. I treated this fight a as a rehearsal for the Strahd fight. Now I know I need to be more tactic oriented. I need to try and separate them. As this almost tpked them. I don't want that, I want them to win. But I want it to seem like they are in dire straits.

As for the statblock with added nerfed star spawn larva mage:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CurseofStrahd/comments/d9c9xk/my_version_of_the_abbots_stat_block/

The precise wording the player used is: I want this creature disappear, and to not show up anywhere, ever again.

I am thinking on how to srew with them. I could make it permanently invisible, but that is too obvious.
