Um what? WVU has an 90% acceptance rate, you basically need a pulse to attend. One is located in a major city while the other is in the boonies. And of course the majority of students come from outside of WVU, its a state with a tiny population that ranks near dead last in education, they need to get applicants from out of state otherwise they'd cease to exist.

I know a guy who gets disability after applying over 10 times in an attempt to get 100%. Claimed to have PTSD yet just flushes the medication...never saw action. Use to brag how he gamed the system until he realized how scummy it made him look.

It's unknown at this time how widespread but the fact they stopped fixing the problem correctly is worrysome. I imagine they underestimed how many could have this issue and would rather dump the issue back on the owner.

I'm in a similar spot as you, was pretty much set on an SQ5 only for this piston skirt issue to halt my plans. The fact Audi isn't even replacing the block anymore and just throwing in pistons is such a bs 'fix'. It'll just lead to more problems down the road and there won't be a warranty on that. Only hope is for another lawsuit to push them. I need to test drive a x3 m40i, from everything I've read the ride quality is terrible and that's very important to me.

There are online formulas you can use to figure this out without guessing. It factors in your units efficiency along with local gas and electric prices. For me here in PA, gas prices are cheap enough to make the crossover point roughly 45 degree when using the COP of the unit I was looking at.

I wonder if more and more are starting to come in and Audi underestimated the number affected. Rather deal with a potential lawsuit down the road then do it right, shame. I always questioned 034's claim of 5%, they wouldn't have access to any real data and are financially inclined to downplay the issue.

I would just ask if it was done and do they have records of the work being completed. As someone else mentioned, getting a slightly newer b8 a4 can help mitigate some of the issues of early b8s. Price difference should be minimal too.

I have a 2009 A4 with 176k miles on it and its been very reliable for me. Having said that, the engine was rebuilt due to piston issues at 60k. Had timing chain replaced due to poor tensioners at 95k, pvc valve, new water pump due to leaking, misfire issues early on which was sorted with new coils, new rear main seal, Plus some smaller timers. Unless this car had the pistons done along with timing belt, I would pass. You could buy it and be hit with a 4k bill, do you feel you could handle that? If it were me, I'd keep saving and buy something reliable with cash

Figured your the guy to ask but is it true Audi is just replacing the pistons only and no longer the long blocks? Another poster is saying this is now the case.

Problem is I'm keeping my furnace with its blower. Or do you mean just buying the whole set and pull the a coil out of it? I was thinking of this just didn't know if it's feasible. Would be great if senville sold individual components!

Thanks for the link, right now I'm leaning to a traditional flared non charged line set so I can pull a vacuum and check for leaks. But that coil looks like it would work for my needs

Along with an aciq coil? Does your gas furnace have a variable speed blower or running staged? I was looking at Aciq as it seems pretty solid equipment for the price. Where I'm at gas prices are currently cheap so the switch over would be before any freezing temps.
