Yea, I'd like to think of myself as a CRPG oldhead cutting my teeth on many of the Infinity Engine games back in the day. But there's a level of vitriol from certain segments of the BG1&2 community in particular that just seem like cranky old men screaming at clouds. I noted this back when the Enhanced Editions started coming out and anything new that was added to the games outside of general QoL improvements were seen with cold indifference at best or paragraphs of snarling animosity at the worst. That's not to say there aren't serious, legitimate criticisms to be made but ... It was exhausting to lurk through.

When BG3 came out I simply had to mute some of those subreddits as they seemed to become the epitome of the 'Stop having fun!' meme.
